RE: School shootings

I know my facts. If people had to pass a simple mental health exam to get a gun it would prevent a lot of suicide.

That's quite a claim, without a shred of evidence to back it up, I can't imagine that even preventing a single suicide, who will administer this "simple mental health check"? what will it consist of? Why wouldn't someone buy a gun on the black market or just hang themselves if they could not get a legal gun as a result of failing this "simple mental health check"?
Here in my state ropes and belts are the number one means of completed suicide, should we restrict access to them? Would that prevent suicide?

You have to pass a drivers test to get a drivers license why not pass a mental health exam to get a gun?

Because there is no such thing as a simple mental health exam that can determine if someone might someday be suicidal. How about this as a simple solution that could significantly reduce gun deaths, how about all gun sales are required to include a large zip tie and a head sized plastic bag and instructions?
That would reduce gun deaths right?
So you want crazy suicidal people driving around in Home Depot trucks on the freeway? I prefer they blow their brains out.

Look I’m not against guns. I have a gun and a permit to carry. Just looking to bring down the gun death rate in America. It’s off the chartsz

Please actually look at the charts, these charts demonstrate that is not so

Perhaps redefine the newspeak term "gun deaths" so it no longer includes suicide? we could reduce gun deaths by 2/3rds!

Whatever happened with the right to die, ought adults not be able to choose to end their lives?
