The Cape genet (Genetta tigrina), also known as the South African large-spotted genet

in #happynewyear4 years ago

Hi guys, sorry for the long time since my last post, I was on holiday and the good news is that I got a few good shots of some awesome creatures, some I have never spotted before, with this one in particular being one of my favorite nature sightings ever!

We were renting a cottage deep in the bush and late at night I heard something in the bush, I pulled out my flash light and this little guy was there busy digging around the back of the cottage and he was not bothered by the light or our presence at all, I was really amazed by how close he came to us.

I immediately ran into the house to get my camera and flash an managed to pull of a few good shots of him!

I used a Nikon D500 with a Nikon 200-500mm lens with a Godox V860 flash.

Happy new year to everyone and may this be the best year of your life!

Very nice shot... always good to wake up when you hear noise outside. Few days ago, in the night I heard funny noises on my balcony but too lazy to see what happened. In the morning there were only the legs of a poor pigeon... and now I wonder who ate it ? I have to take picture :-)
@tipu curate

you know what that means! sleep during the day and wait for the creature at night!
