Cleaning of a Baby's Nose

Routine cleaning of the nose is not necessary unless a healthy baby is breathing in and out. But if it is heard that the baby breathes and gives a sound from the nose, the baby is having difficulty falling asleep, the baby often wakes up while sleeping, leaving the baby when sucking, or if the baby is crying, an intranasal cleaning is necessary. Nose cleaning in babies is done easily after bath time. The water that enters the baby's nose during the bath helps to soften the mucus residues in the nose and help the baby get out of the nose. After bathing, these dirts can be taken with the help of soft tissue paper, cloth or nasal aspirators. Otherwise, if the congestion persists, saline-containing solutions may be dropped on the baby's nose. If the baby is not comfortable, the mucus plugs can be cleaned with nasal aspirators after washing with saline.

The intranasal airway is more narrow in infants and children than in adults. So any problems that arise here can cause serious trouble to the baby. Nasal breathing is very important for infants who do not have an oral respiratory instinct in the first few months. The baby needs to be able to breathe through the breast while it is in the mouth. Nasal obstruction is also a big obstacle to your baby's absorption. The nose also has functions of moistening the air, heating, cleaning, regulating the pressure and flow rate, smell and ventilation of the middle ear. On the side where the nose is blocked, lung respiratory capacity is also low.
