Mama Musings & Hello Again!

in #health5 years ago

Steem family... I'm sorry for my lack of presence on here.
Dealing with my health just needed to take priority this last year. When I was well, my time on steemit was first thing each morning & that schedule worked great, but dealing with fatigue & everything, that just wasn't something I could do this last year.

So here I am, Monday Morning.... August 19th, doing a Mama Musings post.
But really, it's just to update you & to share some fun things & to catch up.
I'm not going to promise anything at this point in time, but my hope is to be on here more! Please forgive me if this post is just all over the place, but that's just how it is. :)

So first off, let's get the big news out there...

WE'RE PREGNANT! Baby #3 is due late December!!! We are so excited & I'm still in disbelief that we were able to get pregnant when my health felt not at it's best.

This baby is giving me so much hope & has healed me in a lot of ways.
Let's back track... I was starting to feel better in the spring, but also struggling with a lot of things. I was feeling overwhelmed with the weight I had to lose again before getting pregnant, since the Adrenal fatigue caused me to gain so much weight back & took me out for over half a year. I was also feeling so anxious about turning 30 & not feeling like myself, not feeling confident, not feeling happy. I was having anxiety/panic attacks & was just so confused about how to help heal myself.

My best friend flew down in the spring to surprise me for my 30th birthday & we had the BEST weekend together. She had all these incredible surprises planned for me, including a big dinner with all of my closet girlfriends. It was a healing weekend, in that I felt loved for who I am, no matter my age, size, looks, etc. The people that know me, love me for me. I finally came to a place where I felt like, if we got pregnant now I would be ok. Sure, it wouldn't be my ideal to start a pregnancy this weight, but it would still be ok. I'm so grateful to my bestie & my friends for this weekend because they helped me to see me how others see me. They helped me out of the dark cave I felt like I had been living in for the last year. Honestly, if it wasn't for their love & generosity I don't know if we would have been pregnant at this time.

Soon after that weekend, my health was improving & sure enough... we got pregnant! The little miracle with this baby is that I didn't need progesterone support to get pregnant like my last two pregnancies, so although my health wasn't at it's optimal, my low progesterone levels seemed to improve! My anxiety now is at a zero basically... I haven't had an anxiety attack since the early spring!

On a separate note, we also went camping this summer! We took our kiddos on a camping trip for 8 nights... tenting. We tented in Bow Valley, Canmore for the first few nights with my bestie & her kiddos. It was so much fun & we went on a lot of different adventures, although it rained more than we would have liked. We then went on to Lake Louise to camp with some of my family. Also super incredible & I'll be sure to share some more of that trip later.

I also decided against purchasing a DSLR this summer. I was just feeling like I wanted an incredible point & shoot that does most of the things a DSLR can do without the bulk. So I purchased a sony a6000 & I LOVE it! It was so amazing to have it with me for all our camping & summer adventures without feeling like I was carrying around a giant camera all the time. Highly recommend!!

But for now, that's kind of everything in a nutshell.
I'm 21 weeks pregnant tomorrow & we're now just gearing up for the fall. Harvesting the food from our garden, canning peaches in the next couple of weeks, making freezer meals, etc. I love the fall & I look forward to snuggling a fresh new baby in the winter months.

Any other mamas pregnant out there & due soon or in December??
