Different things within and around us can be determinant on what mood we wear? Our anger, anxiety, depression, happiness etc. The food we eat, the people we relate with, our financial status, body disorder (irritation), day and time etc.
We never think our crap could do! Bowel movement also have a major touch on our moods and in this post.
Doctors and experts talks about the connection between our brain and gut, which tells us why people with conditions like Irritable bowel syndrome are more prone to stress. I will be enlightening on how it works.

Poo-phoria
Gastroenterologist, Dr. Anish Sheth, the Author of what’s your poo telling you?, calls the pleasurable sensation we get in bowel movement, Poo-phoria; coiled from euphoria, which occurs when our bowel movement stimulates the vagus nerve which comes from the brainstem to the colon.

The vagus nerve help the body in digestion and regulation of the heart rate and blood pressure when stimulated, it can bring about reactions like sweating and can drop blood pressure and heart rate; thereby causing the lightness, i.e it gives a sense of relaxation.
The stimulation can be made easy with large stools, which gives a feeling of exhilaration and intense relaxation.

The other side
Some study suggested that mood is an indicator of bowel movement, depression, being linked to constipation and anxiety to loose bowel movement.

Research also shows that the irregular passing out of feces, like once a week, can be responsible for depressive mood. In others words, you might be taking the right drug for the wrong problem, some people need not antidepressant, but a combination of healthy bowel supplement.

Inside world – Your Gut!
Our gut, which is the part of the alimentary canal between the stomach and the anus, all the body to process food into waste to be passed out. The gut is the only organ that work with being controlled by the brain.
We got about 400-600 million neurons in our gut, thereby making the gut work like a ‘second brain’ or ‘gut brain’. Neurogastroenterology school of research should be respected for this. This gut brain manufactures about 30 neurotransmitter, thereby talking (sending messages) to the brain by the vagus nerves. The gut brain sends signals to the part of the brain that is responsible for feelings of stress, sadness and thinking process. Thereby, making the status of the gut affecting the mood.

Note:
The gut produces 95% of serotonin (neurotransmitter between the brain and gut brain) in the body.
The gut makes 50% of dopamine (brain chemical responsible for our feeling good).

Regularity
Your regularity to the toilet is important to having a pleasant mood. An average passing of bowel range from 1-3 times a day, while for some, 3-5 times a day.

Help is Here!
In helping you improve mood through your gut, as said earlier, regularity to toilet is the factor of change and that can only come by;
-Changing your diet with plenty of fruits, vegetable and hearty fiber. Fruit is good for mood, it happens to be good for bowels as well.
-Regular exercise and proper sleeping schedule.
-Talking to a Naturopathic Doctor can help as supplement can be suggested.

Summary
We feel better at the evacuation of bowels and perhaps, due to the discomfort of the fullness of the colon, as waste build up in the body, gives rise to bacteria and much gases that is rotten inside us.

Thanks for this.
Several lessons on poop from you

"Let go of your shit, and feel better"

Makes total sense.
I've been really down with fever before, and after a toilet session, the fever went down. Take that as a "poo-stimony".

Nice write up, anyways.💪
