My dears,
today I want to talk about so called Superfood! Nowadays, everybody tries to care for his body and his health, which is good. But it also has created a huge business. And it was the industry who invented this name. However, what do they mean with Superfood?
Superfood is called every kind of alimentation which is not made industrially and which contain a high level of mortician values.
Lets take a deeper look to understand.
Blueberries, for example, contain a high level of antioxidants. Those are supposed to know as very effective against colon cancer. There also studies in process to prove the improvement of the memory by consuming a high level of antioxidants. However, there isn't prove yet. People who smoke or drink a lot, for example, stimulate the liberation of so called free radicals in their bodies, which cause diseases like diabetes, diseases cardio-vascular, etc. Antioxidants contain molecules, which protect our bodies from those free radicals.
You can also name raw cacao as a superfood! That’s right, my friends, cacao has a lot of antioxidants, too. Even more than Green Tea or any other plants. Furthermore, it contains a lot of iron, magnesium and also chrome. It has a positive effect on your haemogram and your bone structure. By the way, it also serves as a natural aphrodisiac. Raw cacao doesn’t taste very well, but you can mix it for example with nutmilk or coconut milk and make a delicious milkshake.
What aout goji berries? Goji berries are quite popular and have the fame of being an energizer. They contain a high level of amino acids, also all of the eight essential fatty acids, 21 dietary minerals, many vitamins and other important minerals. So let us be honest – there is almost nothing so healthy like goji berries, don’t you agree?
Of course, If you ask people what they think, could be Superfood, most of them will name Chia Seeds. Compared to other vegetables, it has the highest quantity of Omega-3-Acids, three times more proteins than other seeds and even more antioxidants then blueberries! Moreover, Chia seeds are rich of potassium, iron and calcium. Because of their high level of roughage with over 30%, it can be perfectly be served as pudding or cereal substitute! My friends, I normally don’t like hypes of something, but I love Chia-Joghurts! Mixed with berries, it is just perfect for me!
Lucky for me, who lives in a tropical country, the coconut also is considered as a Superfood. Apart from beeing used easily – there are flakes, rasps, milk, fat, oil, juice, etc. – coconuts contain many amino acids which improve your digestion as well as your immune system. Because of their high level of vitamin B and E, Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium, manganese, phosphorous, iron, cink and copper, it is really healthy and here in Brazil, some people say that coconut water is so healthy that you can use them as an substitute for saline solution in emergency cases.
There is another fruit, which is very healthy, but honestly, in Germany I only saw it as capsules to lose weight.
I am talking about the Acai Berry. It has its origin here in Brazil and you can buy it at every corner. However, normally you don’t simply eat the fruit itself, but more the crème. Apart from being healthy, it is incredibly tasty. The Acai Berry contain a lot of antioxidants, dietary minerals, vitamins as well as fibres.
Of course, there are way more healthy food. So tell me, my friends, what is YOUR favourite Superfood? But keep in mind, Superfood might contain many vitamins etc. Hence it certainly still is a business to buy expensive food. They can keep us healthy in a certain way but they won’t make miracles.
