That blow, which many experiences and consider to be born in the "bone of the elbow", does not really happen in the bone. The unbearable pain that we feel originates in the ulnar nerve, which is a group of sensory fibers that run along the arm and pass through the back of the elbow.
Hitting that area triggers unbearable pain when the nerve was severely compromised. When hit accidentally the elbow spreads in a hook. When it bends and the skin makes the nerve protrude that causes unbearable pain.
However, that feeling of "electricity" can be triggered at any moment in our daily life. For example: when we sleep, the nerve protrudes and a bad movement can cause an intense tingling in the triceps and even the fingers.
Remember that this type of pain is normal and only occurs during a short season, but if it occurs regularly then it should be conducted to the doctor for possible trauma.
