Slowing down,
this morning,
I found a pot of gold...
...at the end of the not rainbow.
But because the rainbow wasn't around, I couldn't reach the gold.
So, instead, I admired it from a distance.
Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away....
...as I was chilling on the river beach, all by myself.
The water was still almost too cold to swim in but I used my will power and managed to float into it for about 5 minutes.
Afterwards, I dried myself in the sun and shadow, on the other side of the river, chilling some more.
*A bit later, I picked up my niece and nephew from the schoolbus, played with them and enjoyed seeing them play in and near the water (playing the adult, again).
We chilled some more, before walking home and chilling even more, before bed.*
Or, to rephrase the latter, they chilled and I did the cooking, cleaning up, etc. ;^)
By the way, I am not on a holiday. It isn't weekend. No, I am actively countering the busy/iness of most people, making conscious choices to do less and I am not willing to wait for that till my retirement, whatever that means
( to stop living? ).
This is why I embrace cryptocurrency (especially Hive and Bitcoin ), blogging and being my own boss.
Time is the most important thing that we have and I prefer to slow (it) down over speeding it up, enjoying nature and being outdoors as much as I can.

And I agree, I am definitely for a lifelong retired life-style, we should open a club! ☕️🐙Because sometimes it would be nice to share these empty river beaches with other people who also chill, pretend to be retired and don't have to run to their "jobs"...
I am already a member of that club. I joined in 2016, after quitting my final job ( as a teacher in higher education ), aged 34.
I have felt burnt out and depressed enough to know what is (not) good for me.
Yup.
The next day there were about 50 people on the beach.
They all appeared after school hours, mainly teenagers.
I guess we all have to get in by ourselves and then slowly discover who else is around...:) I always love to hear the stories of people taking that choice though, or the story of how they choose or found the thing that does fulfil and feels good. Very inspiring:)
...well the teenagers, they are sort of semi-retired, if you will😂

Keep countering that busy/ness, I'm on the other side of the spectrum, a bit more busy than might be healthy. I think it has to do with not having a place that feels like a home, I think one just goes as busy as possible to not think about it and maybe many people experience the same thing

It is a nice place to be in, indeed. The next day there were about 50 people on the beach. A big contrast.
That temperature is insanely warm. The warmest I have experienced here, in Summer, is about 43/44, already way too hot for me, as is every degree above body temperature ( 36/37 ).
