How have you started the week?
Here in Cotonou city, we had heat waves that hit the city for the entire day.
It is so hot here that I could see on the pavement the vapor of water leaving the soil surface.
The air condition at the office was powerful enough to keep the inside office cool enough, especially when all the post were occupied for Monday workload.
What was the recent temperature during the last heat waves you had after summer?
I have to mention that the summer is completed and the last two months of the year should be dry weather, cool windy with not much raining days.
This period of the year is special everywhere in the world regarding the weather and phenomena that happen on due to natural disasters in multiple parts of the world.
It was not too hot in the office two floor above mine. I had no reason to be in this section of the building, but one of my girlfriends were head of direction on the fifth floor.
This extreme hot weather gave me the perfect reason to visit the office on the next floors.
I fought that my rapid absence from my post to go somewhere else to cool off would not be noticed, at least for one hour.
When I reached the spot I was expecting to get freezing air from one of the most powerful air conditioner in the building, it was not able to run due to the heavy consumption of electric power on all the seven floors.
I was not the moment to give up on my quest to find a way to get some fresh, cool air after climbing stairs to the higher spot I had access to in the building.
It was the right moment to open one of the glass windows, offering the marine wind coming from the Ocean. The position of the window gives direct view to the ocean at around 2 miles away.
I was just appreciating this nice moment like I was at the beach when I received three directs calls on social network and direct dial from my colleague.
My presence on the third floor was requested to solve a problem in direct connection to the strange weather negatively impacting our client equipments.
I had no other options then to go back to my post. When I was heading to the escalator, I could hear the steps of someone moving right to the spot I was occupying two minutes ago.
The day ended with a flash rain after the office hour. I can still fill the head as I wrote this article. The sunset was three hours ago. The night does not seem to bring much room to absorb the heat of the day.

Weather forecast for Tuesday does not look favorable to office work, but the only solution is to prepare and keep hydrate during the highest temperature of the day.
