1946 - Wrestling titan and icon, Andre the Giant is born in France. Standing at over 7 feet tall due to his gigantism he was often billed as "Eight Wonder of the World." Often used as a villain he feuded with Hulk Hogan throughout his career before failing health forced him to retire in 1992.
The first inductee to the WWF Hall of Fame he is also known for his role of Fezzik in The Princess Bride.
