Cuando llegué a España me di cuenta de la importancia que tiene la comida del Medio Oriente aquí. De hecho, es bastante común conseguirse con estos restaurantes sin importar el lugar al que vayas.

El nombre que siempre se le da a estos restaurantes es el de Kebab y, casi siempre están a rebosar de clientes, especialmente uno que se sitúa aquí, en Santa Cruz de La Palma. Estoy muy segura que éste es el Kebab más famoso de la isla, no hay día en que sus mesas no estén repletas de clientes y una pequeña cola de pedidos para llevar.

Hoy es uno de esos días en los que no te apetece cocinar nada y, tomas la decisión de pedirte algo para llevar en un restaurante. Hace un tiempo que llamaba mucho mi atención el cómo sería la calidad de la comida de éste restaurante, creo que lo que más me frenaba a comprar algo era la cola de espera.

When I came to Spain I realized how important Middle Eastern food is here. In fact, it is quite common to come across these restaurants no matter where you go.

The name always given to these restaurants is Kebab and they are almost always overflowing with customers, especially one that is located here in Santa Cruz de La Palma. I am pretty sure this is the most famous Kebab on the island, there is not a day when their tables are not full of customers and a small queue of take-away orders.

Today is one of those days when you don't feel like cooking anything and you decide to order something to take away from a restaurant. Some time ago I was wondering what the quality of the food in this restaurant would be like, I think what stopped me the most from buying something was the waiting line.

El restaurante está situado justo al frente del malecón de La Palma, de hecho, está bastante cerca al puerto de barcos y por lo tanto, es un sitio muy turístico, así que considero que ese también es un punto a su favor.

La carta realmente no es muy extensa, cosa que también se agradece porque es más fácil elegir la comida. Los precios realmente me parecieron muy buenos, cada Durum costaba 5 euros y, es una comida que te deja satisfecho. Además, tiene una opción de ensaladas y, mientras esperaba mi pedido pude notar que casi todos sus platillos llevaban ensalada en ellos.

Yo pedí dos Durum de pollo, ternera y ensalada para llevar. La atención fue bastante agradable y el tiempo de espera realmente no fue mucho, habrán tardado entre unos 15 y 20 minutos en terminar mi orden. En total gasté 10 euros por un almuerzo para dos (las bebidas las compré aparte). Aunque, tenían una opción de menú que incluía un durum, patatas fritas y una gaseosa por sólo 7 euros (sin duda alguna, iré por ese en mi próxima visita).

The restaurant is located right in front of the malecon of La Palma, in fact, it is quite close to the boat harbor and therefore, it is a very touristic place, so I consider that is also a point in its favor.

The menu is not really very extensive, which is also appreciated because it is easier to choose the food. The prices really seemed very good to me, each Durum cost 5 euros and, it is a meal that leaves you satisfied. They also have a salad option and while I was waiting for my order I noticed that almost all their dishes had salad in them.

I ordered two Durums of chicken, beef and salad to go. The service was quite pleasant and the wait time really wasn't long, it must have taken between 15 and 20 minutes to finish my order. All in all I spent 10 euros for lunch for two (drinks were bought separately). Although, they did have a menu option that included a durum, fries and a soda for only 7 euros (I will definitely go for that one on my next visit).

El papel aluminio es de vital importancia ya que conserva el calor en la comida, cuando llegamos a casa seguía manteniendo la misma temperatura, así que ese es un gran punto.

Hubo un momento en que pensé que ésta comida no iba a llenarme, pero sólo la mitad de un Durum fue suficiente. La calidad de la comida me impresionó mucho por su precio, el aderezo de la carne y el pollo me parecieron una explosión de sabores maravillosa para el paladar y, la ensalada le añade una buena combinación a ésta comida.

Honestamente creo que se podría convertir fácil en una de mis comidas preferidas y, creo que toda la buena fama que se ha forjado éste restaurante con el tiempo la tiene bien merecida. ¿Comer delicioso y a un buen precio? No en cualquier lugar se encuentra eso, así que mi calificación final sería 10/10.

The foil is vitally important as it retains the heat in the food, when we got home it was still maintaining the same temperature, so that's a great point.

There was a moment when I thought this meal wasn't going to fill me up, but only half a Durum was enough. The quality of the food really impressed me for the price, the dressing on the meat and chicken was a wonderful explosion of flavors for the palate, and the salad added a nice combination to this meal.

I honestly think it could easily become one of my favorite meals and I think all the good reputation this restaurant has built up over time is well deserved. Delicious food at a good price? You don't find that just anywhere, so my final rating would be 10/10.

Si alguna vez tienen la oportunidad de visitar las Islas Canarias, no duden ni un segundo en venir a La Palma, no en vano es llamada como La Isla Bonita. Van a disfrutar mucho del lugar y, también de la comida que esta ofrece.
