What's the easiest afternoon snack you can make? Here's mine!

in Hive Food2 years ago (edited)

When I find nothing available to make a quick snack or don't feel like spending time in the kitchen, I make this!

It's the easiest, quickest snack I know. It takes only a few minutes and can be done with only two ingredients. And no need to say how tasty it is. It's crunchy, a bit spicy, and best going with afternoon tea.

Let me share the recipe.

What do we need?

• 1 cup of Flour
• 1 Egg
• Onion and green chili slices
• salt and turmeric powder
• Cooking oil

Take one cup of all-purpose flour. Add some salt and normal temperature water to make a medium soft dough. Cover it/rest for 15 minutes and make two roti with this.

Now mix the egg with onion and chili slices with a pinch of salt and turmeric powder.

Mix the egg well and put it inside one roti like this.

Cover the mix with another roti.

Heat the pan, put some cooking oil and place the roti.

Cover it with a lid and fry/cook it in medium heat.

It will take a couple of minutes to cook properly on both sides. Flip the roti over and make it crispy on both sides as well.

And it's done.

We call this snack Mughlai which is a very popular dish around this area. My process is the simplest implementation of the same snack. I'm a lazy cook, you know!

Now serve the snack with some sauce, cucumber, or tomato slices. And enjoy.

This is how easy and quick this snack is. You can try it anytime.

Share with me what's your quickest or go-to recipe for afternoon snacks.
