Upgrading kitchen supplies
Being a big smoothie lover and having a daughter who refuses to eat certain things unless I blend it in a smoothie, having a blender is a must have in this household. Sadly, our previous kitchen was horrible, and only had 2 sockets for the power plug of any machine and I could not leave such a blender (or the smaller one we had) on the kitchen counter. It made processing food and cleaning things up immediately quite hard but I tried to use it as many times as I could for the sake of getting my kid to consume veggies and fruit more.
The thing is our old machine was not so powerful and it happened at least 20 times that I either didn't screw the bottom with knives on tight enough OR that it was definitely checked and still unlocked while blending because it could not handle a simple carrot part. What happened was disaster, the bottom unlocked, meaning all liquid and fruit/veggies would quickly run down the blender's motor and of course the kitchen counter and the floor! My gosh I can still feel the annoyance of having to clean that up so many times, and what a waste of my precious fruit it was when it did!
My boyfriend told me every time it happened: "Buy a decent one!" and every time I was like, well do you know what that Ninja thing costs? Not going to happen!
A gift
Then I got lucky, I wanted to send back my electric breast pump because I didn't feel the performance was worth that kind of money, even though I also know my own stress level adds to the lower performance but I had to make a decision that week before the return period ended. I contacted Amazon and told them that I extract more milk with my small sized (very non powerful compared to the Medela one I bought) pumps that were very cheap (it's true) and therefore I can't justify paying this amount of money and wanted to return it.
What happened next was beyond my expectations! I was told that they'd refund me fully and that I could either keep the pump or throw it away, whatever I wanted. Uhm? I asked them if they were serious and they said yes, so I was given back 180 euros and got to keep the pump. As if it was meant to be, a few days after I received the gift balance, the old blender decided to fail on me again and then I knew what to do with the money in my Amazon account: buy the Ninja blender that I wanted for a while. My boyfriend was pleased with this news as well as I finally bought a decent blender after some shitty ones.

For comparison, on the left you see the bottom part of our old blender, and on the right you see the Ninja knife of the big blender, I didn't capture the smaller ones yet but believe me when I say these are a lot better than the old one!
First try
As I always make a big jar of smoothie and keep the rest in the fridge for later or the next day, I first used the big Ninja jar as well, even though it came with two smaller ones that are just the right size for 2 glasses of smoothie.

I trew in a few bananas and a whole pitaya (yum!) , some milk and pushed the button. The machine feels the texture and what it needs to do to blend it, which is amazing! I don't know exactly how it all works yet, but for a quick trial without diving into the know-how of the machine exactly, I think it turned out great.

It was a lot though so I filled up the two extra cups for later, as well as another bottle of the milk that I just emptied.

Next time you want to consume it, you just give it a good shake and that's it.

A great feature of this big jar is that there is this mechanism that you can't poor in the liquid too fast so it's exiting the jar slowly, and steadily. It's lovely when you have such a big amount of liquid.
So first experience with the Ninja detect power pro blender is great! Very happy with it and would definitely recommend this machine!

Cheers
Well that is good fortune for you. Enjoy the new blender
Yes, honestly, could use a little luck in these months, lol. But I am definitely enjoying it and grateful!
!PIMP
I know sometimes Amazon don't bother to ask people return low value items because it might cost too much to process it,but €180 worth of goods is a lot of money! Well done. If you flog it in FB for half price, you'll still be winning!
Yeah I know but I'm not selling it yet, but happy I got to reinvest the money in this blender, super happy with it and using it daily.
I never had this with expensive items either btw, the non-return thing, only a few low-cost items but even those are normally returned as usual. I guess Christmas came early this year :)

The blender looks nice, and I'm sure it'll serve its purpose perfectly
Enjoy...and also, this smoothie looks nice
It is, I hope I can find some more pitaya because officially I think it's out of season now here in Spain.
