Subscribe to Mid Journey AI from Cuba thanks to Hive, and how to do it. [es-en]

Este post es para comentarles mi experiencia para poder suscribirnos a Mid Journey AI como usuarios de pago. Entonces, empecemos desde el principio:

Desde que conocí sobre las inteligencias artificiales para la creación de imágenes, quedé completamente enganchada. Solo comparable con mi necesidad de una rica taza de café humeante a primera hora de la mañana.

This post is to tell you about my experience to be able to subscribe to AI Midjourney as a paying user. So, from the beginning:
Since I learned about artificial intelligences for image creation. I was completely hooked. Only comparable to my need for a nice steaming cup of coffee first thing in the morning.

Comencé a googlear cuanto AI existía para esto. Al llegar a Mid Journey (MJ) fue como entrar al paraíso de la generación de imágenes. Cuanta delicadeza, el uso de las luces y sombras, los bokeh, el enfoque, los colores, el realismo, mi mente explotó.

I started googling how much AI there was for this. When I got to Mid Journey (MJ) it was like entering the paradise of image generation. Such delicacy, the use of light and shadow, the bokeh, the focus, the colors, the realism, my mind exploded.

Así que me quedé allí, peroooo MJ solo nos da unas 25 posibilidades de generación gratis que se acaban bien pronto. Entonces, qué hacer cuando se acaban? Bueno, sentirte vacío pudiera ser una buena respuesta...😂

Con las ganancias obtenidas como recompensas en HIVE, decidí intentar pagarme la suscripción.Acá en Cuba sabemos que no tenemos vías para realizar pagos internacionales, mediante las formas más comunes como tarjetas de débito y crédito, Paypal, Bizum, etc... y ahora?!!!😰

So I stayed there, but MJ only gives us about 25 free generation possibilities that run out pretty soon. So what to do when they run out? Well, feeling empty might be a good answer...😂.
So, with the earnings obtained as rewards in HIVE, I decided to try to pay for my subscription. Here in Cuba we know that we don't have ways to make international payments, through the most common ways like debit and credit cards, Paypal, Bizum, etc... and now?!!!!!

¡Pues bien, aquí está lo que hice!😎

Pregunté en el canal de soporte de MJ si aceptaban tarjetas de débitos virtuales, la respuesta fue que básicamente los pagos eran los que admitía STRIPE.COM, o sea estaba en las mismas😒... no estaba segura de si podrían aceptar o no este tipo de pago. Busqué un plan de respaldo, *"si no utilizo el dinero para pagar MJ, le hago una compra de algo bien ridículo a un amigo en los EUA y se los mando por Amazon". 🤣

Mediante V4V (gracias! @brianoflondon 🤗) convertí mis HBD a Lightning y los envié a mi cuenta en QvaPay, que ahora mismo no están cobrando recargo por solicitar una tarjeta de débito virtual. (Sí, hay otros métodos, pero este me funciona bien a mí)

Well, here's what I did!
I asked in the MJ support channel if they accepted virtual debit cards, the answer was that basically the payments were those supported by STRIPE.COM, so I was in the same situation... I wasn't sure if they could accept this type of payment or not. I looked for a backup plan, if I don't use the money to pay MJ, I make a purchase of something ridiculous to a friend in the USA and send it to him through Amazon. 🤣
Via V4V (thanks! @brianoflondon 🤞) I converted my HBDs to Lightning and sent them to my account at QvaPay who right now are not charging a surcharge for applying for a virtual debit card. (Yes, there are other methods, but this works well for me).

I already had my Visa card, now I logged in to my MJ user to select my Plan.

Planes: Ni falta hace que te explique cuál quisiera comprar y cuál compré 😅😂. Escoges tu Plan y este te lleva directamente a Stripe.

Para pasar a Stripe y pagar, tuve que poner VPN, pues tampoco podemos acceder a ella desde Cuba. 😒
Allí, pones los datos de la tarjeta, tienes también que agregar una dirección manualmente. Agregas los datos que te piden:

Listo!🙌 Se confirman, el pago y el usuario y pasas directamente a MJ que te da la bienvenida como suscriptor.
Ahora procedí a invitar al Bot de MJ a mi propio Discord para poder encontrar mi trabajo más fácilmente entre la multitud de personas que generan en el canal general. Ojo, esto no hace que tu trabajo sea privado, para eso debes pagar una tasa extra.

I now proceeded to invite MJ's Bot to my own Discord so I can find my work more easily among the crowd of people generating on the general channel. Warning, this does not make your work private, for that you must pay an extra fee.

Antes de HIVE, hubiera sido imposible para mí poder utilizar 10 USD en algo como esto, pues producto de la inflación y otros males, este dinero representa unos 1800 pesos en mi país, que es más que la jubilación mensual de mi mamá después de trabajar como profesional durante 35 años. O perfectamente casi el salario de un técnico.
Ahora puedo dedicar una parte de mis ganancias de las recompensas obtenidas, para poder desarrollar mi imaginación. Gracias a HIVE esta nueva puerta se me ha abierto:

Así que espero que este post te sirva de guía y confirmación de que SI podemos acceder a MJ mediante herramientas a nuestro alcance desde Cuba.
No 'se si podré pagarlo muy seguido, pero definitivamente si me daré el gusto de vez en cuando, sobre todo para preparar nuevas colecciones de NFT, que es otro de los mundos se me descubrieron gracias a las IA y HIVE.

So I hope this post will serve as a guide and confirmation that we CAN access MJ through tools available to us from Cuba.
I don't know if I will be able to afford it very often, but I will definitely give myself the gift from time to time, especially to prepare new collections of NFT, which is another world I discovered thanks to the IA and HIVE.
