[TIPS] Cómo escribir en Hive ¿Textos bilingües o en mi lengua nativa? + Herramientas [ES-EN]

Hola queridos cuhivers y hivers en general. Después de un tiempo desconectado por problemas de salud (había contraído Dengue), vuelvo a ustedes con esta ¿serie?, de posts acerca de cómo optimizar nuestro contenido en esta plataforma social de la Web 3.0. Hoy hablaremos de uno de los temas más polémicos a la hora de comenzar en Hive: ¿Será que tengo que escribir posts bilingües o basta con mi idioma nativo? La respuesta te la daré en este mismo post, pero antes te invito a que le eches un vistazo a otros temas que he tratado anteriormente:

Ahora, volviendo al tema que nos ocupa hoy, ¿te has preguntado alguna vez por qué la mayoría de los creadores de contenido en Hive publican sus textos en dos idiomas? Esto tiene una razón, y aunque yo mismo era uno de los que renegaba de publicar de forma bilingüe, la entendí.

La razón por la que los creadores en Hive publican textos en dos idiomas es sencilla: más del 80% del contenido en Hive está en inglés, ¿no me crees?, mira a tu alrededor. Aunque sepas inglés, no tienes que traducirlo todo de manera manual, ya que ocuparía mucho tiempo que puedes emplear en enriquecer tu texto principal. Si tienes buen dominio de la lengua, empléalo en corregir la traducción. Y si no tienes dominio absoluto de inglés, no te preocupes, hay herramientas.

Títulos y Subtítulos / Titles and Subtitles

Antes de comenzar con las herramientas, hablemos sobre los títulos y los subtítulos. Los títulos pueden traducirse, pero si no quieres que se alarguen demasiado, basta con colocar la etiqueta [ES-EN] donde especificas que es un texto en Español e Inglés y ya no tendrás que duplicar la cantidad de caracteres. En el caso de los subtitulos separa con / el subtítulo en español de su traducción en inglés.

Para traducir el texto existen miles de herramientas online, pero sin dudas la más famosa es el Traductor de Google, aunque no es la mejor. Para lograr una traducción más acertada de tus textos te recomiendo utilizar Yandex. Para una mejor traducción del texto, asegúrate haberlo escrito correctamente en el idioma base y respetando las reglas de puntuación.

To translate the text there are thousands of online tools, but without a doubt the most famous is Google Translate, although it is not the best. To achieve a more accurate translation of your texts, I recommend using Yandex. For a better translation of the text, make sure you have written it correctly in the base language and respecting the punctuation rules.

Añadiendo estilo / Adding style

Por último, pero no menos importante, está la cuestión de cuánto afecta el utilizar dos idiomas al estilo de nuestro texto. Para que este quede lo más elegante posible podemos explorar dos estilos.

Last but not least, there is the question of how much the use of two languages affects the style of our text. To make this look as elegant as possible we can explore two styles.

1. Cita entre párrafos: Es para mi gusto el mejor, se trata de ubicar el idioma secundario en una cita debajo del párrafo escrito en el idioma principal, así nuestro lector no tendrá que dirigirse al final del texto para ver la versión en inglés, sino que puede hacer una lectura continua sin perderse el hilo conductor ni el contexto de las imágenes. (Es el estilo que escogí para este artículo).

1. Quote between paragraphs: It is for my taste the best, it is about placing the secondary language in a quote below the paragraph written in the main language, so our reader will not have to go to the end of the text to see the English version, but can make a continuous reading without missing the common thread or the context of the images. (This is the style I chose for this article.)

1. En dos partes: En este estilo escribiremos íntegramente el texto en nuestro idioma nativo y al finalizar, comenzará la versión en el segundo idioma. Se recomienda utilizar en textos cortos de menos de tres párrafos, pero para textos largos es más recomendable usar la opción número uno.

1. Texto a dos columnas: Para los usuarios más avanzados que conocen el uso de las etiquetas de código HTML, pueden crear estilos a dos columnas. Pero su gran inconveniente es la distribución justificada en el párrafo que puede llegar a molestar en pantallas pequeñas como la de los dispositivos móviles (Ver imagen).
