Now is your chance to tell everyone
Every now and then, I go through my old posts and have an enjoyable moment reading some of them. Some posts are special to me, because they bring back nice or sad memories, a memorable event, place or person. Others are special because I wrote them, not for others to read, but for myself. They're personal in a way, but published and hidden on the chain. And some, I had a lot of fun writing them. These posts aren't necessarily my highest payout ones or the ones with the most engagement. In fact, some of my favourite posts went under the radar, but that's fine. What's important is that I like them.
I was wondering if other people on Hive feel the same, and that's when I thought I'd start this My Three Favourite posts challenge.
The idea is very simple.
- go through all your old posts
- choose your three favourite
- make a post telling people why they're your favourite
This challenge isn't about reposting your old posts, please don't do that. Just include a link to them will be fine. The challenge is for you to talk about why they're your favourite posts. To allow your readers to find out about some of your best works, and your thoughts about them. Your reasons for choosing your three favourite posts can be anything, but they must be YOUR reasons.
I know this challenge is a bit different from other contests or writing prompts and doesn't really fit into any community. That's why I created the Three Challenges Community https://peakd.com/c/hive-100848/created to avoid you posting in a community and breaking their rules. I don't want your post to be muted!!
There are a few more things you should be aware when taking part in the challenge:
- post in the Three Challenges Community https://peakd.com/c/hive-100848/created
- low effort posts eg reposting the old post links and not talking about why they're your favourite will be muted
- read the community rules before you post
- engage and support with others in the community, if their favourite post inspires you, why not drop them a tip?
- there is no prize for the challenge but as always, good original content may be picked up by curators for support
- this is an ongoing challenge, take your time and find your three favourite posts
- include your three favourite posts in one single challenge post
- if you have more than three favourite posts, make two challenge posts if you want. If you have more than six favourite posts, pick six only. Don't spam.

Tip : Finding a particular post on Hive isn't the easiest particularly if you have many. This is my favourite site https://eroche.shinyapps.io/hiveanalytics/ Just go to User Level, enter your username in User Drill Down then hit Users Post Lists and it will give you a list of all your posts. It works with Hive SQL which is currently down, but when that's avaliable, so will this site.
Does it mean the author only can post in this community 1 or 2 articles then finish? Because if the authors post more than 2 posts will be considered as spammers. Or is there any period for the authors to share again their 3 favourite articles, maybe after 6 months or 1 year?

As I've explained to @ibbtammy above, it's quality over quantity. If you have too many favorites, then they're not really favourites. I'd prefer people to be selective and choose posts that really mean something to them, otherwise some people may end up make a post every month or every week shilling their old posts, instead of writing about their favourite.
If say a year later you want to write about your favourite posts during the year, then by all means. In fact, I may even do that as a challenge at the end of the year 😉

Yes, I think picking our favourites may be the most difficult part, but once we get there, those will certainly be the jewel of the crown

Quick question:
After participants partake in the three or six favorite posts challenge does that mean that’s the end? Like this same user cannot post here again? Is it a one or two time thing?
I think if it's "favourite" there shouldn't be that many, and 6 seems like a lot already. A bit like your besties, it sounds odd if everyone is your bestie, then you really don't have any bestie 😉
The main reason I've restricted it to 2 entries is to avoid people writing about their 'favourite' posts every week and it becomes spammy and loses the challenge's objectives
I will be doing other challenges in the community going forward, so there will be opportunities to revisit old posts, but maybe from a different angle.

You could also use this new community to publish a challenge called by you: “The three posts you like the most from a certain user of your preference”; and why not “the three worst posts you've ever had” or “Share a post that catches your attention the most from three users you follow”.
Those are some very good ideas. I've deliberately named this community in a loose way so I can adapt it for other challenges going forward. Thanks for the suggestions

But I've already started working on it.
I was thinking something else, that as we have a chance of listing 6 posts, I will mention 3 now i.e. at the beginning of my journey and the other 3, when I will get a considerable experience of being on hive. And see the difference.
And who wouldn't want to be in the pioneers of such an innovative initiative.😀✨
I like this challenge. I have two that come to mind right away. I'm sure I'll find a third as I scroll back some.
It will be really interesting to read what others pick. I'm sure it will include some I have read and quite a few I haven't. You know what would be an almost impossible challenge? Picking three that aren't ours, haha.

Picking our own three is not easy either, I started going through mine, six years is a lot!!! And with Hive SQL down I can't use the website that I recommended, that would save me a lot of time instead of scrolling down my feed. I'll get there soon.

Oh yes six years is a lot. With SQL being down it has made things a little more difficult. I'm struggling with my PUM challenge I don't know if I'm forgetting. I do know I have done extra power ups some days. Back to topic...
Picking three as I move back now I realized some forgotten posts, hehe. I'll narrow it down somehow. As far as picking three others maybe piggyback off this challenge picking the best of what users think are their best 😊

After reading the rules of the challenge, which is based on three favourite posts and the questions and answers from the comment section, I have gotten to understand better.
However, I don't know if writing for the challenge now or probably tomorrow is acceptable since the payout of the post is past seven days.
I also have some cool ideas I think would be nice for the community since it is based on three things. If being a mod is needed, I'll like to join in. Thank you 😊
