Sara Jarvie's 3 favorite posts

Hello and thanks to @livinguktaiwan for creating this fun community!

I look forward to seeing some of your favorite posts. Here are mine.

I thought of my favorite post instantly and then the next two followed pretty soon after. Like Pauline, I have a lot of travel posts and they didn't make it into my favorites.

One is about my mom's death, one is an Art Talk post about emotion and the last is a formatting post. Let's dive a little deeper into each post and why they are my favorite.

Formatting tips by Sara Jarvie is a time that I really gave back to the Hive community in a significant way. I was able sharing my knowledge and skills on how to make visual attractive posts with others. Formatting my posts is a creative outlet for me and something I really enjoy. This formatting post is still used and referenced and that is awesome to be able to help so many people.

Emotion in Bronze.
This is my first Art Talk post. I have done some other really creative posts about art, It is a subject that I am enamored with and want to share with others. In this post I share my my thoughts and feelings about six sculpture in the Hirshorn Sculpture Garden in DC. My writing has gotten better, with my last Art Talk post Laocoon being at university standard and yet this is still one of my favorite posts.

My very favorite post is Share My World: Sweet Sacred Experience. I wrote this post a week after my sweet mother died. I go back to this post to remember that special time. Oh what a hard, loving, sad, time of learning, connection and growth. It has now been 5 years since her death. I miss her so much. I am much closer to my siblings and am so grateful for our friendship!

As I was looking for the posts I noticed all three were posted in 2019. I guess that was a good year for me on Hive. :)

Hello @sjarvie5 I took my time to read your mother’s death journey/ experience and all I can say is that you are one brave bear and your mum was a fighter.

I have never read an article relating to one’s transition this explicit. I got overly emotional while reading it and can’t imagine how you felt when writing and editing it.

I have been following you for quite a while now, going through your travel experiences and the various places you’ve had to visit but reading this your sacred experience I got to know you better.

You are amazing and so just you know your mum is resting in a good place free from all the pains of this world.

Have a good day !Lady❤️🤗

Thank you so much @ibbtammy for taking the time to read the post carefully and for your thoughtful comment. It is definitely where I shared the most of myself with others here on Hive.

You are most welcome and thank you too for sharing @sjarvie5 💕💕

Your formatting tip post is one of the few posts I have bookmarked on Hive, it's so handy when I have to add a lot of images to my post to make them look more interesting and to maintain quality without having to make them into a collage.

On your Emotion in Bronze, you added the wrong link (linked back to this) but I found your post. You probably figured out by now I know nothing about art, but this talk made me look at sculptures differently. It was also interesting to find out about French's limitations on Rodin's work. Is that just for him?

And your last post, it's so beautiful. I could feel your sadness of knowing your mum will leave soon, but you embraced the situation and preserved those precious moments. There are things in life that will happen no matter what you do, and rather than fret or worry or cry hopelessly, it is much better to be prepared so you can turn a sad event into a memorable one.

I think my biggest takeaway from the post, is something very practical - when one is lying on a bed, especially their deathbed, is to stand over rather than sit next to them. It's these little things one don't think about or realise.

Thanks for sharing!

Aww thank you. Yes, looking into my mom's eyes was precious, so was holding her hand. Thanks for your thoughts and comments about the other posts too!

These are actually great post that truly deserve to be among the favourite list. I just started creating post recently but hoping as the week goes on, I will have my own favourite list

Thanks @precab glad you are going to make a list too.

These 3 posts are really nice and deserves appreciation. i think your rest 2019 was good for you.

bringing old things in front bring memories from the past and it's good.
