Hive FPL Gameweek 13 preview

Welcome back to Hive FPL Gameweek 13 preview. The majority of us are licking our wounds after Gameweek 12 which saw the Arsenal and Man City match rescheduled to a later date due to Arsenal's European Commitments that week. This meant that most players had to substitute or transfer the likes of Jesus and Haaland not to mention Phil Foden, Martinelli and Saliba. All top points earners that are in many of our teams. So if you got over 50 points in Gameweek 12 then you were doing well. So we move onto Gameweek 13, a normal week. Man City have most likely had time to do the software update on Haaland so he will be gunning for goals again at the weekend which gives us a nice little segway into our first match. City versus Brighton.

Brighton drew with Forest during the week but they are up against the best team in the world tomorrow s we expect goals and lots of them. It is not that Brighton are a bad team. It is more that City are awesome. I would be thinking more around taking any Brighton players out of your team for this one. City will win it but by how much is the key.

Liverpool have conceded 1 goal in 3 games , have beaten Man City and Salah looks to be back to normal and happy again. Not only that but Nunez is finally getting goals after worries his reaction and awareness were not to standard. Also they are only 7 points behind Man City so all is not lost yet. Forest signed 20 players and after watching their draw during the week they were lucky to get it. Their goal difference is atrocious and it doesn't look like the manager knows what his best team is. The defense pass it around like it is a hand grenade with the pin out but it has settled down a bit. I still expect Liverpool to win by alot here. The players who kept Salah in my get their rewards tomorrow in this one.

The pressure is off Frank Lampard this week as his rival Steven Gerrard got the boot mid week. He still needs to pick up points however and the defeat to Newcastle midweek has made it 3 defeats in a row for Frank. He needs a win here or they are in trouble. Crystal Palace are a good team and will make it hard for them. We predict a draw here.

No Ronaldo for United because he decided he didn't want to come on during the Spurs win on Wednesday. This may be the best news possible for Ten Haag as United played out of their skin on Wednesday against Spurs and they look to continue their momentum. But it's United. They play great in one game and lack in the next one. They rarely stay consistent but is Ten Haag changing the culture. He is taking no shit from petulant superstars so maybe they are. Potter has started well at Chelsea and given youth a chance. It also looks like Mason Mount is back to his best. The draw against Brentford during the week was poor however. They need a target man. Is Ronaldo that person?? Chelsea to win here by a whisker.

Probably the worst manager in Aston Villa's history has left the club this week. Gerrard not only did not improve any player. He made them worse. No tactics. Bad signings and just the wrong attitude to the players. Rumour has it he had to get the team bus home after being sacked which was totally awkward for everyone I imagine. Brentford have been peak Barcelona in their last two games so Villa will have a hard time on Sunday. Brentford to win easily here unless Villa are now off the leash and feeling good that their manager who they did not like is gone.

Leeds need a win and soon or their manager will be in trouble. They are slipping down the table after a decent start. Now they were very good against Arsenal last weekend and I do not think they will be in trouble but now is the time to start winning especially against a team they need to finish above the table to. But after hammering Aston Villa 3-0 during the week , Fulham will be in fighting from. And Mitrovic is back after injury so expect a decent match.

Spurs were terrible on Wednesday night against United. They invited them on and made United look good. Kuluevski and Richarlison are still injured which means Conte's options are limited. In his presser he said Moura was not fully ready either. The 3 in midfield on Wednesday was poor so he may go back to the Hijbjerg and Bentancur pairing and leave Bissouma out. Newcastle look good this season and will fancy this one. It will be an interesting match. If Spurs lose this one, more question marks will be asked around the style of play from Spurs who looked like a team battling relegation on Wednesday night rather than going on the front foot with their attacking strengths. Son looks like the shackles are on him and this is not helping matters. Trippier will want to prove a point as well. Why did Spurs get rid of him?

Two sides battling relegation at the moment. Leicester off the back of a win will want to keep things going. Wolves can't buy a win of late so they will be up for this one. They have finally start scoring however. This is a 6 pointer already. I can see Leicster continuing their run here. Rodgers is not gone yet. He will hold out for the England job come December so he needs a couple of wins to keep him at Leicester until then

Southampton are back in form again after a poor start but Arsenal have won 9 games out of 10 and are scoring for fun. It will be tough to see a Southammpton win here but this is a game I can see Southampton just going for it and coming away with a few points. Arteta must be in Disneyland by the start Arsenal have had and they now look like serious contenders. The only obstacle will be if they lose a game will they lose the next 4. This had not happened when they lost to Man United but they did stutter against Leeds last week which was maybe their first bad game the whole year and this includes the United game where they lost. I still expect Arsenal to win here.

West Ham are licking their wounds after the Liverpool defeat on Wednesday night. They were not that bad in the game either and it finished just 1 - 0. I predict they will be too striong for Bournmouth here but David Moyes's West Ham have not started well at all. Bournemouth have been getting better and are scraping draws. This will be a scrappy game. West Ham will edge it with their quality.

So this concludes the preview for Gameweek 13. Be sure to put the City and Arsenal players back in. Midfielders and goal scoring defenders are the key here as everyone has Haaland as captain and there will be goals to be had unlike midweek.
