GUÁRICO SUBCAMPEÓN XX JUEGOS DEPORTIVOS NACIONALES [ESP]-[ENG]

Hola mis apreciados amigos amantes del deporte, hoy vengo súper feliz a contarles la adrenalina vivida esta semana, al ver a mi equipo Guariqueño de Balonmano, enfrentarse a tantos equipos nacionales con fervor, entusiasmo y fuerza llanera.

Hello my dear friends who love sports, today I am very happy to tell you about the adrenaline I experienced this week, seeing my Guariqueño Handball team, facing so many national teams with fervor, enthusiasm and strength from the plains.

Pues si, el pasado sábado 5 de febrero, se enfrentó Guárico al equipo de Distrito Capital, un partido muy emocionante puesto, que la puntuación variaba por 2 o 3 puntos cuando mucho; momentos de dolor físico al caer en aquellas tablas, de sudor, de cansancio, para culminar con gritos y algarabías al lograr el primer triunfo sobre aquellos visitantes.

Well yes, last Saturday, February 5, Guárico faced the team from Distrito Capital, a very exciting game since the score varied by 2 or 3 points at the most; moments of physical pain when falling on those boards, of sweat, of tiredness, to culminate with shouts and cheers when achieving the first victory over those visitors.

El día lunes 7, en horas de la mañana, fue el encuentro contra el equipo de Yaracuy, logrando por 2da vez vencer sobre aquellos jugadores; nada fácil pero tampoco imposible; la furia llanera logró vencer al final de la batalla.

On Monday 7, in the morning hours, was the encounter against the team of Yaracuy, winning for the 2nd time over those players; nothing easy but not impossible; the fury of the llanera managed to win at the end of the battle.

El martes en la tarde, nuevamente juegan, esta vez se enfrentan contra el equipo del Zulia, fue un juego más tranquilo, la diferencia fue de 36 a 20 a favor de los llaneros, toda la capital Sanjuanera, se hallaba tranquila sin tanta algarabía, pues la Victoria de aquel día se notó desde el principio.

Para el miércoles 9, si hubo gran incertidumbre, puesto que se esperaba el triunfo obligatorio de GUÁRICO, para poder pasar a la final, y así asegurar la primera medalla que en éste caso seria bronce; aunque el juego fue de suspenso y gritos para los asistentes, se logró vencer a aquella furia Larense 28 a 26, ¡Vaya que juego! creí que nunca terminaría.

For Wednesday 9, if there was great uncertainty, since it was expected the mandatory victory of GUÁRICO, in order to move to the final, and thus ensure the first medal that in this case would be bronze; although the game was of suspense and screams for those in attendance, they managed to beat that fury Larense 28 to 26, Wow what a game! I thought it would never end.

Fue así, como logramos pasar a la gran final, cuyo juego se decidiría el día jueves 10 contra los feroces jugadores del estado Falcón. Llegado el maravilloso día, no cabía 1 alma más en dicho domo olímpico, la adrenalina se veía en cada Guariqueño que entraba en aquel recinto; actividades culturales por doquier, tambores, gritos, cantos, y pare de contar, San Juan De Los Morros entero abocado a éste encuentro deportivo decisivo.

This is how we made it to the final, whose game would be decided on Thursday 10 against the fierce players of Falcon state. When the wonderful day arrived, there was no room for one more soul in the Olympic dome, the adrenaline was seen in every Guariqueño who entered that enclosure; cultural activities everywhere, drums, shouts, chants, and stop counting, San Juan De Los Morros whole devoted to this decisive sporting encounter.

Inició el juego con un marcado gol por parte del equipo de Falcón, y los llaneros de inmediato igualaron, fueron fuertes momentos para todos, viendo como se golpeaban, sangraban, caían al suelo y se levantaban con mucho dolor; momentos de impotencia al ver como sacaban a nuestros jugadores de aquella batalla, hasta que al fin quedaban los últimos segundos de juego y aquella pizarra marcaba 26 a 23 a favor de Falcón, sin más que hacer sino que aceptar la derrota.

The game started with a goal scored by the Falcon team, and the "llaneros" immediately equalized, there were strong moments for everyone, seeing how they were hit, bleeding, falling to the ground and getting up in pain; moments of helplessness to see how our players were taken out of that battle, until finally the last seconds of the game and that board marked 26 to 23 in favor of Falcon, with nothing else to do but accept the defeat.

Guárico había quedado subcampeón de aquel encuentro nacional, medalla de plata dejaron en nuestra capital estadal. Entre llantos tristes y a su vez sonrisas de alegrías, el director técnico de la selección Guariqueña Prof. José Gregorio Ortega (mi tio materno), expreso ante los medios, que se sentía orgulloso de sus muchachos, que estaba feliz porque más que aquella medalla de oro anhelada, pero no lograrada, estaba seguro que San Juan ya sabían de que trataba el Balonmano, que se dió cuenta del amor que siente este pueblo para con sus representantes deportivos, y eso vale más que cualquier oro, plata o bronce.

Guárico had been runner-up in that national meeting, silver medal left in our state capital. Between sad tears and at the same time smiles of joy, the technical director of the Guarico team, Prof. Jose Gregorio Ortega (my maternal uncle), expressed to the media that he was proud of his boys, that he was happy because more than that gold medal longed for, but not achieved, he was sure that San Juan already knew what handball was about, that he realized the love that this town feels for its sports representatives, and that is worth more than any gold, silver or bronze.

Para mí es un orgullo haber visto triunfar a mi equipo, no estuve entre ellos por motivos... pe la medicina y mi fuerte carrera tuve que abandonar, pero me siento 100% jugador aunque no esté allí con ellos. Y bendigo mil veces a mi tío José para que siga trayendo medallas, alegrías, triunfos e infinito amor a ésta ciudad. No me queda más que decir, ¡Que Viva GUÁRICO!, ¡Que Viva Venezuela¡

For me it is a pride to have seen my team triumph, I was not among them for reasons ... medicine and my strong career I had to leave, but I feel 100% player even if I am not there with them. And I bless my uncle Jose a thousand times to continue bringing medals, joys, triumphs and infinite love to this city. I can only say, long live GUÁRICO, long live Venezuela!
