The Unthought of Reason Why La Liga Teams Do Better in European Leagues (UCL, UEL)

When it comes to European titles that the major European Leagues compete in like the Champions League, the Europa League, Spanish (La Liga) teams have been the most successful.

According to Wikipedia, for Champions League:

Spanish clubs have the most victories (20 wins), followed by England (15 wins), Italy (12 wins), Germany (8 wins), Netherlands (6 wins) and Portugal (4 wins).

For the Europa League:

Spanish clubs have been the most successful, winning a total of fourteen titles. Italy and England are second with nine each

This makes La Liga fans to claim that the Spanish league actually has stronger teams than the English Premier League and the claim that the Premier League is the toughest is false.

This logic sounds correct, and it's hard to dispute, until you think deeper about the matter.

The Premier League is indeed the toughest league, and La Liga being more successful in these European Leagues even goes to show that the Premier League is the toughest.

Why?

Look at it like this, when you compete in the European Leagues remember you're also competing in domestic leagues at the same time. Because of this, sometimes you can't get the best from your players because you have to play with very tired players or rest them due to injuries or due to planning.

When you're in the toughest league this would affect your performance in another league like the UCL/UEL even more.

You see?

If you're battling a lion and a goat at the same time you would fare better than someone who is battling a lion and a bear at the same time.

Simple.

So this right here is an Unthought of angle, or at least I've never heard anyone say it when they argue about who is better between the La Liga and Premier League teams and the use UCL/UEL titles as yardstick.
