National Sports Games 2022

Hello sport lovers! I am new to this community, and I would like to share with all of you a really important event, today was the announcement of the XX National Sports Games Venezuela 2022. In this press conference the Minister of Sport Melvin Maldonado gave details of what we could see in these long awaited and desired games.

I am an active chess player, it was in 2011 when I participated for the first time in a national games, the next edition was in 2013 but unfortunately chess did not enter among the sports disciplines to play because it was not in the Olympic cycle, and the 2013 edition was the last.

After the extraordinary performance of Venezuela in the Olympic Games of Tokyo 2020, where Venezuela won 1 gold medal and 3 silver medals, rumors of a possible realization of the national games began, the rumors sounded louder, and the official announcement was made where the XX National Sports Games 2021 would be held, and where chess would participate since chess is again in several international competitions of the Olympic cycle.

However, a major event such as the national games, where all the high performance sports disciplines of the country are gathered, must have a good organization, so the games were postponed to January 2022.

Today was released the promotional video of the XX National Sports Games 2022, it will take place from January 31 to February 12, that's right the biggest sports party in Venezuela is right in the corner, there will be 3 main headquarters for the realization of the games, which are Caracas, Miranda and La Guaira, and other 4 places such as Carabobo, Lara, Guarico and Yaracuy, more than 7 thousand athletes will participate in different disciplines seeking to climb to the top of the podium.

During the press conference, the Minister detailed that the general medal table to be disputed in the 48 sports disciplines is 517 Gold, 517 Silver and 638 Bronze medals, with the participation of 11,401 people including coaches, referees, organizing committee, delegates, national federations, among others.

Chess will be played in the state of Miranda, where 3 tournaments will be played in 3 different modalities such as: classic, rapid and blitz.

All precautions and biosecurity measures against COVID-19 will also be taken into account, taking care of the safety of all the people in this great sporting event.
