As we all know the Fantasy Premier League will start soon and everyone is out with their paper and pen to note down the best 15 member squad for the coming rounds. This is my first time playing in Hive FPL but I have played Fantasy Premier League once in school, our teachers made a league and there were about 20 teachers and students competing. Even though I was a beginner, which I think many were, I finished fourth place. This time, I think winning would be a lot to ask for but, this season my goal is to enjoy and have fun rather than winning.

So, This is my team for Hive FPL. I will try to explain why I chose this team and what my plans are going forward. I recommend not copying as you could end up having a bad FPL season 🙂.

Goalkeepers 🙌

I felt having quality goalkeepers would help a lot and therefore I didn't hesitate to spend a lot on them. Having David Raya is no surprise I think, Arsenal having less goals conceded in the whole league made me pick Raya. Most points in FPL last season among the goalkeepers, most penalties saved and 5th most clean sheets and 1st by any goalkeeper, all of these records made by Raya last season. I hope this explains my decision. Alisson might be a surprise, but I think something about him tells me that he will get a lot of points this season. I chose Alisson also because Liverpool has an easy run of 7 games which they should win and concede less in.

Defenders ⚔️

My opinion regarding defenders in FPL is that fullbacks are the better option. The reason is that fullbacks can do it all, defend, assist, so they are both defensive and attacking which gives them the extra points. I went for Trippier as Newcastle has an easy run of games, at the same time he is great offensively and takes all the set pieces as well, giving him the extra chance for more points. The same reason goes for Walker and Pedro Porro, these three fullbacks had also the highest creativity among defenders and most assists as well. Van Dijk because of Liverpool's run at the start and because he is defensively great, but I would like to have Saliba or Gabriel there instead.

Midfield 🎯

Not going for Palmer would just be stupid here, most goals, assists, influence and creativity, he is just topping everything for a midfielder. Same with Rodrigo, as he was the best defensive mid in the league last season and had an insane unbeaten run with the club. Szoboszlai and Mainoo are two incredible players, causing problems last season, but I think these two are my gambles, either they shine or I will have to transfer them after a few rounds.

Forwards ⚡

Not having Haaland would be sick, the man scores at least a goal every game, had the biggest threat last season, most influence, 5th most assists and many more incredible stats. Secondly, Pedro might seem like an overrated pick but as I had spent a lot of money on other players, he was the best option. He was 4th most creative player, top 10 in biggest threat and influence. He is also a gamble and I might transfer him if he doesn't perform well.

Bench 🔥

Van de Ven, Enzo and Gabriel Jesus are there for backup. Van de Ven and Enzo are both gambles and because of the limited money I had left, but Gabriel Jesus can really come up clutch in easy matches.

This is my team, and I hope I have got things right here. I already know that few players will not be in the team after 2 or 3 rounds, and some players like Haaland will be here for the rest of the season. Regardless it will be fun to compete against all the hivers and hopefully I can earn some hive as well by winning the matches. Good Luck to everyone participating and see you in my next blog, Goodbye.
