In an era where football demands the absolute best of players in their squad to compete for every single title there is to attain, it has become necessary for clubs to spend a good amount of money to achieve their goal. This is why we are seeing a number of signings from top tier teams around the world.
Teams with a good transfer budget simply want to attain the best of squad to build a good sporting project. This is only achievable with the backing of the team's board and support. In many ways, Mikel Arteta has been fortunate in this regard.
Despite numerous failed attempts, Arteta has not been able to attain his top 4 ambitions but there is still some sort of believe among the fans. Ever since Arsenal managed to finish in second place in the 2015/16 season with an impressive 71 points, their best has been attaining 5th place on the table.
Last season, we saw numerous arrivals for the gunners. Among them are; Aaron Ramsdale, Martin Odegard, Ben White, Tomiyasu, and many others. This saw them spending well over £100 million in this particular window. I was very impressed with the way this squad played especially when they faced big clubs. I really thought they would get away with it until the last few weeks when they bottled the lead.
This time around, they are still not backing down making some serious signings within this transfer window. So far, the highlight of this particular window has been Gabriel Jesus who has been phenomenal for Manchester City last season. He was very instrumental in helping them in several matches both in the Champions League as well as the Premier league.
Another exciting youngster acquired by the gunners is Fabio Viera from FC Porto. This player certainly has the capacity to be great in future. He is only 22 years of age but has a tremendous vision, ability and great desire to help his club.
