My dirt-bike, a YAMAHA DT 180 [ENG/PT-BR]

Hello :) today I'm going to show you a bit about my dirt bike.

It's a old Brazilian Yamaha DT 180, bikes produced until the 2000s.
The Yamaha DT 180 is an iconic motorcycle in Brazil, known for its robustness and versatility.

Launch: The Yamaha DT 180 was launched in Brazil in 1981. It was part of Yamaha's range of motorcycles known for its performance on mixed terrain, which made it popular.

Engine: The DT 180 was equipped with a 176 cc two-stroke engine, which provided good torque and acceleration.

The DT 180 gained prominence in enduro and trail competitions in Brazil, where its ability to handle difficult terrain made it a popular choice among off-road riders.


Well, let's get to my 180.

To begin with, it's not really a 180, as it has the pistons and connecting rods from its sister, the DT 200, a carburetor from the RD 350 and the gearbox from the RD 135.

It was assembled and modified by my brother-in-law (since 2018 or so), and it was white, as in the photo below:

I was about 14 years old in this photo. Shortly afterwards it was sold

When I turned 16 I bought it again, and I still have it today (although I don't ride anymore, but I intend to go back).

Well, I don't think there's much more to say about it, but I intend to modify it even more, soon I'm going to put on a dimensioned exhaust, which will improve its performance a lot more. And of course, I'm going to give her a makeover.

Ela é uma Yamaha DT 180, motos produzidas até os anos 2000.
A Yamaha DT 180 é uma motocicleta icônica, conhecida por sua robustez e versatilidade.

Lançamento: A Yamaha DT 180 foi lançada no Brasil em 1981. Ela fez parte da linha de motocicletas da Yamaha conhecida por seu desempenho em terrenos mistos.

Motorização: A DT 180 era equipada com um motor dois tempos de 176 cc, que proporcionava um bom torque e aceleração.


Bom, vamos para a minha 180.

Pra começar que ela não é bem uma 180, já que possui os pistões e bielas da sua irmã, a DT 200, um carburador de RD 350 e a caixa de marchas da RD 135.

Ela foi montada e modifica pelo meu cunhado (isso desde 2018 mais ou menos), ela era branca, como na foto abaixo:

Eu tinha uns 14 anos nesta foto. Pouco tempo depois ela foi vendida

Quando fiz 16 eu a comprei novamente, e estou com ela até hoje (embora eu não ande mais, mas pretendo voltar).

Bem, acredito que não há muito mais o que falar sobre ela, mas pretendo a modificar mais ainda, logo logo irei colocar um escape dimensionado, o que vai melhorar muito mais a performance dela. E claro, vou dar um tapa no visual dela.
