Hi friends from the hive and pixelart community! today i'm bringing to you the third pixelart contest 😄💖 this week's theme will be shading and colors, the main objective of this contest is just to have fun and get better in what we love to do, our pixel art! 💖

i'll select the winner and possibly honorable mention(s) and random winner just as we do in the other weekly contests n.n

For our 3rd entry on the improving skills contest we should focus on the use of colors at the moment of shading our pieces, we've seen how the shadows works and also how to use the main shapes to create wonderful things so let's go a little further and use shading on those shapes. 💖

So, why shading? and how we should use the color?

I'm gonna use the same image as i did on the shapes because there's the 3 main elements that we've seen the last 2 weeks, the top line shows the basic shapes, really nice, you can identify each one of them, a square, a circle and a triangle. On the middle line there's the shadows it's not a square anymore but a cube, the circle became a sphere and the triangle a pyramid just with a little shadows and rotation the main 2D shapes became 3D. but that is no the end of it.

when we talk about shading we can think of it like a more complex way to use shadows, you can use a variety of ways to shade an object, speaking of colors you can use monochromatic as seen in the bottom line, which are variations of the same color or analogue ones as can be seen in this little icon a little rock where i use analogue colors to the main orange, the yellow ones to the lights and the purple ones to dhe shadows.

Hee i use monochromatic colors to shade the helm, these are just examples, feel free to try it in the way you see fit for your work, anything is valid 💖

• Non-traditional pixelart is welcome: like color pencils on paper (or voxel)

• Share your art preview and post link the comments so I don't miss it

I'm a beginner too so remember just to have fun but also put some effort on your posts so you'll have a chance to get curated :D
