Hello awesome people, in today's post I will be sharing my current emotions and feelings as I write. A whole lot has been happening in my life all at once and I could write a book of my life's events. However, if there's one feeling I currently resonate with, is the feeling of 'Uncertainty'.
Hola gente impresionante, en el post de hoy voy a compartir mis emociones y sentimientos actuales mientras escribo. Han pasado muchas cosas a la vez en mi vida y podría literalmente escribir un libro de los acontecimientos de mi vida. Sin embargo, si hay un sentimiento con el que resueno actualmente, es el sentimiento de 'Incertidumbre'.
In simple terms, uncertainty means the state of being unsure, specific, definite, or fully knowing the outcome of a thing. Uncertainty is displayed in different areas and times of our lives, especially in our choices, actions, inactions, etc and sometimes this affects us greatly in diverse ways.
En términos sencillos, incertidumbre significa el estado de no estar seguro, específico, definido o conocer plenamente el resultado de una cosa. La incertidumbre se manifiesta en distintos ámbitos y momentos de nuestra vida, especialmente en nuestras elecciones, acciones, inacciones, etc., y a veces nos afecta enormemente de diversas maneras.
It is also vital to understand that in the very complicated fabric of life, the existence of a weaving throughout every period, questions our sense of being in control. Uncertainty is that feeling that challenges the familiarity and grip we have in life. This feeling is no respecter of background, age, race, gender, or social status and eventually hits everyone at certain moments of their lives.
También es vital comprender que, en la complicadísima trama de la vida, la existencia de un tejido a lo largo de cada periodo cuestiona nuestra sensación de tener el control. La incertidumbre es ese sentimiento que desafía la familiaridad y el asidero que tenemos en la vida. Este sentimiento no respeta antecedentes, edad, raza, género o estatus social y acaba golpeando a todo el mundo en determinados momentos de su vida.
Mid-last year, I decided to accept jobs that involved me giving human resources, and self-development amongst other areas of specialized training. It started with an unpaid gig my friend got me. Initially, I was reluctant to take it as I had never trained people before but was fully equipped with the knowledge to give the opportunity a shot.
A mediados del año pasado, decidí aceptar trabajos que me implicaban dar recursos humanos y autodesarrollo, entre otras áreas de formación especializada. Empecé con un trabajo no remunerado que me consiguió un amigo. Al principio, era reacia a aceptarlo porque nunca antes había formado a gente, pero tenía todos los conocimientos necesarios para intentarlo.
I was raised to never say No to good opportunities, regardless of how scary they seemed to be. I understood that the worst-case scenario would be to not get it but at least, the experience and the journey will leave me with lessons that can be applied to future opportunities and in life generally.
Me educaron para no decir nunca que no a las buenas oportunidades, por muy aterradoras que parecieran. Comprendí que en el peor de los casos no lo conseguiría, pero al menos la experiencia y el viaje me dejarían lecciones que podría aplicar en futuras oportunidades y en la vida en general.
With a leap of faith, I researched the areas of focus and further studied the subject matter. I prepared for the day and with great uncertainty as to how my first time would go, I just believed I could do it.
Con un acto de fe, investigué las áreas de interés y estudié más a fondo el tema. Me preparé para el día y, con gran incertidumbre sobre cómo me iría la primera vez, simplemente creí que podía hacerlo.
The day came and I was to train a group of 30 people. I wasn't informed about this mini-crowd, I thought to myself. Immediately, I started to feel a rush of self-doubt and panic as I sat down there, waiting to be called to the podium.
Llegó el día y tenía que formar a un grupo de 30 personas. No estaba informada sobre este minigrupo, pensé para mis adentros. Inmediatamente, empecé a sentir una oleada de dudas y pánico mientras esperaba sentado a que me llamaran para subir al podio.
I kept asking myself, "Why did I take this gig?" "Who sent me to set myself up for disaster?".
No dejaba de preguntarme: "¿Por qué he aceptado esta actuación?". "¿Quién me ha enviado a prepararme para el desastre?".
Next thing, I remember hearing a small still voice that encouraged me that I got this and it was going to be okay. At that very moment, my mindset shifted and my confidence began to pick up.
Lo siguiente que recuerdo es haber oído una vocecita que me animaba a pensar que lo tenía todo y que todo iba a salir bien. En ese mismo momento, mi mentalidad cambió y mi confianza empezó a aumentar.
I can confidently say, I received a standing ovation after the presentation and training. The Manager of the company requested that henceforth, I would be in charge of training his team and he was going to recommend me to more people in search of my service.
Puedo decir con confianza que recibí una gran ovación tras la presentación y la formación. El director de la empresa me pidió que en adelante me encargara de formar a su equipo y que me recomendara a más personas que buscaran mis servicios.
This experience humbled me so much. Although, it taught me even greater life lessons as every experience I go through in life is a teachable experience for me.
Esta experiencia me hizo sentir muy humilde. Sin embargo, me enseñó lecciones de vida aún mayores, ya que cada experiencia por la que paso en la vida es para mí una enseñanza.
It is safe to say that although my first gig was an unpaid one, today I get paid to train and present at larger conferences. Who would have thought? But uncertainty took me there!
Cabe decir que, aunque mi primer trabajo no fue remunerado, hoy me pagan por formar y presentar en grandes conferencias. ¿Quién lo habría pensado? Pero la incertidumbre me llevó hasta allí.
Do you realize how powerful the force of uncertainty is? It can evoke a range of emotions from anxiety to excitement, self-doubt to self-confidence, hesitation to anticipation and the list is endless.
¿Te das cuenta de lo poderosa que es la fuerza de la incertidumbre? Puede evocar una serie de emociones que van de la ansiedad a la excitación, de la duda a la confianza en uno mismo, de la vacilación a la anticipación, y la lista es interminable.
I have come to find the mystery of life's uncertainty beautiful, not because the outcomes might always go as expected but due to the following reasons:
- It keeps us on our toes
- It teaches us great and deep life lessons
- It helps to shift our mindset
- It shows us the joys and tears of the journey
- It provides opportunities for growth
- It promotes self-discovery
- It brings about life transformation
- It gives us something to look forward to at certain life's moments
- It builds our adaptability, resilience, and willingness to walk in unknown realms.
He llegado a encontrar hermoso el misterio de la incertidumbre en la vida, no porque los resultados sean siempre los esperados, sino por las siguientes razones:
- Nos mantiene alerta
- Nos enseña grandes y profundas lecciones de vida
- Nos ayuda a cambiar de mentalidad
- Nos muestra las alegrías y las lágrimas del viaje.
- Ofrece oportunidades de crecimiento
- Fomenta el autodescubrimiento
- Provoca la transformación de la vida
- Nos da algo que esperar en determinados momentos de la vida.
- Fomenta nuestra adaptabilidad, resistencia y voluntad de caminar por terrenos desconocidos.
I don't know about you but I have come to embrace the mysteries of life. Sometimes, they are so scary that I could bite my tongue multiple times just anticipating the outcome of it all.
No sé tú, pero yo he llegado a aceptar los misterios de la vida. A veces, me dan tanto miedo que me muerdo la lengua varias veces sólo de anticipar el resultado de todo.
However, in all my getting, I have learned to not stress over things too much, accept that which I have the power to change or control and those I don't have the power to change or control, learn from my mistakes, apply these lessons to future scenarios, and actually live life with each moment I get.
Sin embargo, con todo lo que he conseguido, he aprendido a no estresarme demasiado por las cosas, aceptar lo que tengo el poder de cambiar o controlar y lo que no tengo el poder de cambiar o controlar, aprender de mis errores, aplicar estas lecciones a escenarios futuros y realmente vivir la vida con cada momento que tengo.
I haven't hacked the process of life at all but there are joys in the journey and I take it as it comes. As I navigate the twists and turns of life's uncertainties, I seek to find solace in its beauties.
No he hackeado el proceso de la vida en absoluto, pero hay alegrías en el viaje y lo tomo como viene. Mientras navego por los vericuetos de la vida, busco consuelo en sus bellezas.
I hope you can approach and appreciate life's uncertainties from a positive place and not fight them.
Espero que puedas abordar y apreciar las incertidumbres de la vida desde un lugar positivo y no luchar contra ellas.
