Khrushchyovka, Sirgala. Estonia

in Urban Exploration2 years ago

Sirgala was built along the traditional style of the times, cheap as chips to chuck up, constructed of concrete panels and brickwork. Nothing flash or fancy. given the slang name of Khrushchoba.

Functional

Up and down stairs when a block is empty there is a lot to see

These ceiling lamps would look good in any modern house, pretty much like the concrete block they are in.... built to last, it never ceases to amaze me how certain things survive.

Those lamps are quite nice, in a retro sort of way.

Retro is the way to go, so I am told, minimimalism is dead.

🤣🤣🤣

I prefer the overgrown greener look on the 2nd pic down. The top one looks like a concentration camp.

Welcome to the former USSR Comrade!

There is something mysterious and enchanting in these abandoned places photos... Those photos on the wall are adding even more fire and life to the place... Yes, it's empty now, but we can imagine people running around, doing everyday things...
Thanks for sharing the first photo so we can see how it was planned to look...

I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project and it will be highlighted in the next post!

Little boxes filled with ticky tack comes to mind, at least a sturdy build. Served a purpose, never pretty to look at from outside, some neat features found within.
