RE: Tales of the Urban Explorer: Ernie's Place

Is it possible to get a book that defines the UK pre-1960 more than 'ferrets and ferreting' - I think not. Great place. I love art-deco design and the fire place surround around the gas fire in the living room is like the most awesome ever.

And the old TV with the 4 buttons reminds me of what we had in the 70s. In the 70s our family had a remote control - me, I was the youngest, so when a channel needed changed, that was my job ! I can remember when remote controls became a thing in around the early 1980s, and it was a very special thing to have a TV with a remote control. I remember one of my mates telling me he had one, and I went round to his house to see it, and it was the best thing ever. He had bought an 8 foot bamboo cane, and could press the buttons on the TV with that while lying on his bed - LOL ! Great memories !

Nice find !!!

Same, 4 channels and the 4th didn't have a channel. Channel 4 came later!
