My First Urban Exploration - A Thread Factory - Site 1

Most of the first are worst.

Be it anything, your first bungee jump,first essay you wrote, first video you created, first hair trimming you'd do yourself and everything else.

Most first things end up being pathetic.

I have been fascinated by this idea and community about urban exploration. Going at places you never imagined you ever will and finding something you could never think of is fascinating indeed.

I was thinking of starting my urban exploration journey. And then when I had some places in mind and some free time. I gave it a go.

Since many people in India live below the poverty line. Thus there are a lot less chances to actually find something exiciting, as I don't think people would have left even trash at abandoned places. Lol.

So there is this long standing old thread factory in my city. I planned to visit there for my first urban explore. In hope that I would find at least some exiciting things.

And let me show you what I found..

As you reach near, there is this huge door made up of wood. There was no one at the door. There are shops at both sides. But thankfully no one objected me entering in.

As soon as I entered a large ground welcomed me with rooms like open structures build at its boundries.

To the right is this is this building with multiple rooms. Locked.

Must have been the main office of this factory. There are a couple of tables and wooden beds lying in the porch. Places like these are usually occupied by people to smoke hookah or play cards in their free time.

Going upstairs, you'll find these structures. These are washrooms, probably for labour. I didn't care to look inside as it was already smelly even from a distance.

Moving a bit further there are multiple open compartments. Most of them had nothing but some vegetation and wrappers and quarters of cheap liquor. Seems like these are being used as a place to get drunk.

Found some used tyres lying around in the way.

In one of the compartments I found this half ladder. Leaning up along a wall. Who brang it here and why. Some questions will always remain unanswered.

Moving back and to the left of main door, are a few compartments with some amazing stuff.

Before the compartments, And in the open I found two Royal Enfields. It's surprising that people have left them here.

These bikes look like in a good condition. And can definitely be made workable. Both have the number plates of Delhi. So probably bought from there.

Moving inside the compartments, two more rusted Royal Enfields caught my eyes. But these seem unrestorable. One of them doesn't even have an engine. Lol.

In front of this structure lied broken pieces of rider's helmet, headlight and some other plastic.

In the adjacent compartment was a rusted bicycle sitting in all its glory.

I checked out a lot of compartments but only found disappointment. Except one of them also had this - possessions of a street hawker.

In the middle there was this structure to accommodate machineries, nothing unusual except for these bricks around were socked in oily fluids and gone dark.

This friendly creature was roaming along with us. So I couldn't leave it out without an honorable mention.

In the middle of the ground, I found innumerable weard out belts made of rubber.

In one corner of this place. Here is this shallow constructed area. Must've been a water reservoir for factory use, that's why a lot of vegetation has grown here.

Travelling opposite to it, there's another building. Locked from outside.

Exploring a bit further I found a door in the sidewall to move inside. But there wasn't anything interesting, except locked rooms and wooden logs.

So that was it, my first urban exploration. I couldn't find much to capture, but I enjoyed it a lot. Hehe. Was a unique experience to explore an abandoned place.
