We are far too lenient with sentencing IMO. I think part of it is the fact there's no space in our jails. The Americans are much harsher, but they have guns over there, and there seems to be even more crazies than here.

Well some arsonists are likely to have mental issues, but then we fail on caring to those illnesses too. The prison system is fucked up, but nobody wants to be seen as being soft on criminals.
