Down a long driveway lined with old snowmobiles, trailers and surrounded by farmland. This nearly 200 year old Gothic Revival Victorian house has sat abandoned for nearly a decade.
The last owners, a young Scottish couple purchased the property in the 1970s and made it their home while farming the land until they passed away. Their son, a very successful doctor had already moved to the west coast America. Sold the land to a consortium of developers who plan on building a new community.
That plan has been held up by government indecision, first the plan was approved and the land was purchased. Then the government decided that the land was part of an environmentally protected zone, a year later they ruled that it was not protected and then last year they once again decided that it was. Making the future of this property very unknown, but the gorgeous house is falling prey to the elements and other people.
When I explored the house 2 years ago it was virtually untouched by people, now the vandalism and theft has begun. Here is my post of this house from 2 years ago, to give a comparison: https://hive.blog/hive-104387/@terrywayne/abandoned-1850s-gothic-victorian-house

Nice, that's a bit of a Time Capsule.
Sure is is a neat spot
How beautiful the house looks from the outside, despite the years 😯 I love these types of photographs where the passage of time and the disorder are shown (even though, as you mentioned, it has arisen from vandalism); however, there is some beauty there. It makes you wonder what life would be like for the people who lived in that house. Incredible photographs. Thanks for sharing 🙂💚
