Global music celebration on Hive is on the week of sixty three now. Every week of the celebration, the new interesting performance always amazed me when I watched kind of different music from various countries. These condition is extremely important for everyone to know each other well through this platform. Music, is one of the best media to campaign our culture. It also could give a chance of cross culture understanding among the Hivers. Beside to spread peace, love, serenity and many positive things, it could give a great opportunity for assimilation of culture diversity. On this ocassion, I sing another song from Indonesian legend musician, Iwan Fals. The tittle of the song is "Ujung Aspal Pondok Gede". The song tells about childhood memories of singer's homeland. About village life changed due to the construction of tall buildings. This song I chose due to the theme given, STORYTELLER by the host of this @hiveopenmic, @cabelindsay. The spirit of the song I believe suitable with this chosen theme. Well...You may check the link of the following video to watch my performance for this moment.

Here is the lyrics of the song and its English translation...

Di kamar ini aku dilahirkan
Di balai bambu buah tangan bapakku
Di rumah ini aku dibesarkan
Dibelai mesra lentik jari ibu

In the bamboo hall my father's handiwork
In this room I was born
In this house I grew up
Caressed tenderly with the mother's finger

Nama dusunku Ujung Aspal Pondok Gede
Rimbun dan anggun ramah senyum penghuni dusun
Kambing sembilan motor tiga bapak punya
Ladang yang luas habis sudah sebagai gantinya

The name of my hamlet is Ujung Asphalt Pondok Gede
Lush and graceful, friendly smiles of the villagers
My father has nine goats, three motorbikes
The vast fields are gone instead

Sampai saat tanah moyangku
Tersentuh sebuah rencana
Dari serakahnya kota
Terlihat murung wajah pribumi
Terdengar langkah hewan bernyanyi

Until the land of my ancestors
Touched by a plan
From the greed of the city
Look gloomy native face
Heard the footsteps of animals singing

Di depan masjid samping rumah wakil pak lurah
Tempat dulu kami bermain mengisi cerahnya hari
Namun sebentar lagi angkuh tembok pabrik berdiri
Satu per satu sahabat pergi dan takkan pernah kembali

In front of the mosque next to the deputy headman's house
The place where we used to play fills the sunny day
But soon the factory walls will stand up
One by one friends leave and never comeback

That's all my post for this week of Hive Open Mic. I'd like to say thanks to every support that I got since my first time here. Hope you all always in great condition wherever you are.

Having memories and being able remembering them and singing about them is great. Stories can be formed around and one day telling them is a nice way to refresh those memories. I appreciate your way of playing the blue guitar and great singing in your language!!
