Good Intentions, Bad Decisions.

in Silver Bloggerslast year (edited)

I'm really miffed with life at the moment, I mean...really, really miffed.

I'm so miffed it's actually hilarious.

I thought 2023 was going to be much better than last year...I mean I made my New Years resolution, vowing that 2023 was going to be a year of health and wealth and success.

Oh my word!...were we in for a huge surprise.

Omg!...maybe I should fall asleep like "Rip Van Winkel" and skip 2023 and wake up in 2024.

Hubby and I have hit a good few Humps and Bumps throwing us off balance a bit, financially and health wise.

We feel like we're under fire, dodging those dreadful darts life is aiming at us at this moment.

It just doesn't seem to stop.

OK!...we had good intentions, but I think, made some bad decisions too, and all decisions, good or bad, have consequences.

How does the saying go?..."Get up, dust yourself off and carry on".

Oh boy!...not so easy...it all started towards the end of 2022.

First Hubby's crown fell out and the dentist couldn't put it back in because the pin broke, so now he's waiting for the finance to have a tooth implant done which costs an arm and a leg.

Then I broke my tooth, also a front tooth which the medical aid doesn't pay for.
So!... the two of us are walking around with a missing front tooth.

It's become a joke amongst my family...Haha!...it's quite funny actually as one could imagine, walking around with a missing front tooth trying not to smile at anyone.
Oh well!...hopefully it will be fixed soon. The quote from the dentist is pending Lol!.

Christmas better come quickly Lol!

I thought things would get better in March...well!...so I thought.
It only seemed to escalate into absolute craziness.

It started off with a pain in my chest, I tried brushing it off, but, after friends and family nagging me to visit the Doctor (who by the way aren't my favorite people) off I went for a checkup.

After blood been sucked from my arm with a horrible needle for testing, (I'm sure these people are vampires in disguise), then an ECG, that was another story, the nurse told me to undress an put on a gown, then lay down on the bed so she could attach some gadgets to my chest to read my heart rate.

The bed seemed so high for a shorty like me.
I stood looking at this lot for a moment, wondering how on earth I'm going to jump onto the bed, after the nurse told me the steps they usually have under the bed, is broken.

Well, I grabbed the other side of the bed with my hands and flung my leg up onto the bed, then pulled myself up, then turned over, by this time the gown was wrapped around my neck, I tried desperately to make myself dignified, ignoring the look of amusement on the face of the poor nurse. I can only imagine what a sight it must've been.

I went home to wait for the results which came a few days later.

No!...I'm not going to have a heart attack any time soon, thank God.

I have high blood pressure and very high cholesterol.
Omg, which means I have to change my diet, let alone, my attitude.
Attitude?... well!... I do intend to get a little worked up now and again...I mean...I'm only human.

Yikes!...how am I going to live through this?

No pasta, no rice, no red meat, no bread or potato...in other words, no carbs.
Only vegetables and fruit and fish and plenty of exercise.

I've always thought of becoming Vegetarian.

Life is just not fair, I'm sure there must be another way around this...if you have any suggestions, please advise me, it would be highly appreciated.

Then that wasn't all, Hubby, took the dustbin out early on Thursday morning and slipped in the drive way, hitting his head against the concrete wall, grazing his nose and forehead, came back inside looking like he had just been in a boxing match.

Oh Gosh!...will it ever end?...I won't go into any more details on what has happened to us since...taking the three huge labs to the vet in our small Sparky Chev motorcar, and getting my arm scratched by Lucy the Labrador in the process.'
No, we won't go there, not going to bore you with anymore mishaps.

I do feel like crawling under a table with a bottle of red wine and just drowning my sorrows at the moment, Hehe!. That would definitely be the wrong decision, or would it be? Lol!

Wrong decision or not.
I think it's much better to get it off my chest and share with my dear Hivian friends...a much better decision, don't you think?

I hope April is going to treat us better...I do feel it in my bones though, things have to take a turn for the better.

It's actually funny now that I think of it, maybe we should weigh up our bad decisions with our good intentions, maybe we'll find the answer, or do these things happen to test us?, I just don't know.

Getting old is certainly a bit of a BUGGER.

I don't feel old, I think I still have it...Omg!.

Well...my dear retired friends, I thought I'd just rant a little, it does help, it makes one look at the circumstances in a brighter light, Haha!.

The only solution I think, is to continue to radiate positive vibes out there and make the most of one's good intentions.

I think I'll go and have a peep at what Silver Mamma Chef is up to in her kitchen and take my mind off the happenings of the last few months.

She was busy making breakfast the last time I looked.

She told me she'd seen the recipe on You-tube.
Mmmm... Silver Mamma Chef never gets the recipe right Hehe!..

The eggs kept slipping off the stuffed tomatoes.
Well...that's Silver Mamma Chef for you...always doing things her way, Omg!.

At least it was edible and quite delicious with the cheese and tomato sauce.

I think Silver Mamma Chef is getting out of practice and needs some stimulation in the kitchen.

Until next time, stay safe.

Getting old is certainly a bit of a BUGGER.

I totally agree with you, my friend!

As for 2023, he/she has really been so nasty to many people, almost as if the years are competing to see who can win the war of nasties!!!

The breakfast must have been good though, looks yum, and who cares if you stray from the recipe!

Have that glass of wine & cheers to a better 2023 from now on :)

Thanks my friend, cheers with a glass of red wine, to 2023.
Thanks for stopping by.

That’s so me! I knocked the bridge out of my mouth by smashing into the almond tree in my garden while running after the refuse van; I didn’t want it to get away without my bags. Haha.
Life is interesting and it’ll keep you on your toes, that’s for sure.
Hope things improve in April; it’s in the stars ⭐️

Thank you @itsostylish I truly hope April is better.
You're right, these things happen to keep us on our toes for sure. When I think back on all that's happened, I'm thankful it's just miner things and can be over come.

What doesn't hurt is having a sense of humor about it all, and you have that in spades! May April be a smooth month, with no mishaps for you.

Thank you @owasco, the thing is, one either allows the situation to over take you, or one sees the humour in it.
I choose to see the funny side. Lol.
Thank you so much for stopping by.

Oh gosh, sometimes it seems like the pitfalls in life don't come alone and we have times when it seems like we get thrown one curveball after another. But if you don't lose your sense of humor, at some point things start to pick up, and you have a very funny way of ranting, and that's already a plus, hehe.
I hope April is good for you, so lots of positive thoughts that it will be.

Lol!...that sounds like a good idea @coinjoe, Thanks so much for stopping by.

The older we get the more life throws crap at us and it does not let up, this is exactly why we celebrate any small win!

As for the food it all ends up together in your tummy so as long as it tastes tasty then that is all that matters!

 last year

You're so right @tengolotodo , life does get a bit crappy as we get older, just when we don't need it Lol!. But, we have to laugh at ourselves sometimes.
Thanks for stopping by, have a great day.

Oh yes absolutely we should just laugh at ourselves sometimes :)

Awwww! Shame man! Yep! Since 2020 we've been like surely, the next year will be better... And every year is just a different level of wtf. What's that you say? No carbs? 😭😭😭 Well, I recommend that if you have any carb allowance at all that you save it for your wine 🤣

Hi @clairemobey . My daughter lives in Melkbos, her son Deklin is the drummer with Celebrating Elvis, he is playing in Paranostra West Coast, and all over Cape Town. I see you are not far from them and also in the Music scene.
Wish you everything of the best

Oh that's super exciting! That's right up our alley! Melkbos is stunning ❤️ we'll have to go check them out one day 😉
