One of the things that characterizes Venezuelans is that always jovial spirit. Not only people under thirty enjoy their days with joy, but also contemporary adults and seniors do it.

Any month of the year is appropriate for celebrations. It is common to hear that Venezuelans celebrate even the birthday of their pets, it is a joke but nothing far from the reality that describes our way of being.

Personally, every week I look for an excuse to get out of the house either for a walk or to share with friends and family. My husband accompanies me on my trips, the children are each on their own, doing what they do best. Sometimes my husband and I go for a walk with the grandchildren. The children love to eat treats and we grandparents are there to please them even if they arrive with stomach aches ha,ha,ha.

November is coming to a close, which means we will have lots of things to see and do. This week we went to the reinauguration of a lookout point. The place was decorated with Christmas lights and ornaments, from the moment we arrived we felt the good vibes, people were happy, eager to see the spectacle of the night.

The first to participate were the bagpipe groups. The gaita is a musical genre whose main instruments are the tambora, the furruco, the cuatro and the charrasca. Each bagpipe group injects strength and energy to infect the spectators. My husband and I not only enjoyed the sound but also the group of people gathered together dancing and singing along to each melody.

In this jovial space where we met older people, children, teenagers and people with functional diversity, it was pleasant. Everyone respected each other's space and joy. Everyone did what they wanted to do.

After the musical groups there was a theater presentation. It was amazing how our generation united with the greatest willingness to enjoy the show. The euphoria was greater on the part of the adults. In this day and age, both my husband and I think that today's young people enjoy being more passive than we were at that age and in our time.

Every musical pause was taken full advantage of! I felt fulfilled, pleased, grateful.

The popular culture of our people is priceless. However, it is not until a certain age that we truly begin to appreciate it. As globalization expands, the more likely we are to lose our roots, which is why many of us agree that we should not stop celebrating every event that identifies us as a people.

As a child my parents kept us more indoors. Celebrations were seen from afar, from a distance, never precencial. Perhaps that routine is what drives me today to live differently.

I continue to evaluate whether it was worth it to retire when I still have the capacity to continue contributing to education in my country, the answer is still the same. Better late than never. It is better to retire when my spirits continue to provide satisfaction, waiting for my body to wear out was not the best option for me. It seems unbelievable but my emotional state has reached a good balance, I hope to continue adding to my daily activities.
