Fibre Paste on Herbal Tea Bags on Citra Solv Pages - Day 27 - The 100 Day Project

Day 27 of The 100 Day Project was a busy with other stuff kind of day.

However, I was still able to move the cluster book project foward.

I abandoned my efforts yesterday with the fiber paste, but this morning I looked at what I'd done with fresh eyes and decided to keep it simple.

I'd stenciled some fiber paste onto herbal tea bags. They are much lighter in colour than the ones I used previously so I thought they might look good on dark paper.

One of the pages in the cluster book was created using Citra Solv degreaser on National Geograhic magazines and is very dark. I'd used half of it for the fabric clusters but I still had the other half to fill.

I'm not sure if my friend will use these clusters as it or whether she will add more to them. I know she really likes this paper though so that's good.

So that's it for today. Short and sweet.

Yesterday I got into a lot of thinking about how most of the stuff I'm creating just ends up as clutter, which was beginning to get me down. It's a recurring theme for me. Then during a conversation in the comments with @jacey.boldart I remembered that I'd agreed with myself not to worry about this during The 100 Day Project and I was able to let it go. Consequently I'm feeling much more relaxed about it all again. Thanks Jacey! 😍

Next - Day 28

Sort:

It just feels good you should know that. You did great and anyone will fall in love with your work

Happy Day 27 !

I like the fiber flowers on the teabags. They look really nice.

I don't know, but it seems to me most of what you create, you are giving away or using for wrapping or..... whatever as if it is not going to stay in your home or space anyway. Yes, I know clutter happens while working, but the end product will be flying away, adding some "happy" here and there.

I also thought about what you said before about no more room for art on the walls, but one thing that I have found fun previously was to leave a piece of art here and there in the wild, for someone else to find for free. It is probably called a lot of different things in other places, but I heard someone call it something like, hiding an Easter Egg, so finding a free piece of art in an odd place was like finding the prize Easter Egg. It is just a possibility if you still like to create, but have no more space and you said you had a bajillion things saved up to use.... so.... well, just an idea if you hadn't thought of it. Take them with you on shopping trips or wherever.

Interesting you should mention leaving art "in the wild". I was talking to Rosanna about that yesterday and we agreed to do some walks when the weather improves and leave some art in public places. 😁

Most of what I've been doing for the 100 day so far will be leaving the house because March is a busy birthday month. Once those are over the creations will be hanging around. The painting I did yesterday is an example. But, anyway, I'm not going to worry about that during the 100 days. 😂

I also like the fiber paste on the tea bags. I'm thinking the idea could be developed for Christmas cards.

Every holiday becomes a reason for a card now right ? ha ha

Funny that you were just talking about dropping some art around yesterday. I haven't done that for a good while, since before covid got started at least.
