Amid the Torrential Rains

in Silver Bloggers2 months ago (edited)

With several days of rain still hammering our region, we already yearn for the sunshine. We haven't seen the sun for almost a week now. Yesterday morning, we were talking about taking a road trip to the neighboring province but then when we went out of the house, we found out that a part of the driveway eroded during the night and buried the front left tire of the car almost completely.

That made us think twice about the trip as there could be landslides along the roads so we decided to stay put and did some clearing instead. Then we received a call from my father informing us of a neighbor who passed away due to kidney failure.

For some reason, no one registered in my mind even when Dad mentioned the name and where their house was and the person's siblings. I tried to rack my brain but nada. Guess what? She appeared in my dreams last night scaring the hell out of me.😱

Perhaps that's the universe making me remember, huh?

Anyhow, all is well and everyone is safe and sound. We might go home to the other place at my parents when the weather improves so we could attend the wake or at least the funeral on Saturday.

By the way, these pictures were seen, enjoyed, and photographed after our early dinner at ONCH. I was looking through my phone gallery when I found them, giving me my ray of sunshine amid the torrential rains.

It's Thursday on our side of the world, past 6 am. Heavy rains still and oddly enough, the thunder roars the hubby couldn't believe it. "Oh there's even a lightning!" he pointed out the window as he got out of bed. Yeah, there is still no sign of the weather improving, but who knows the universe may surprise us anytime during the day.

Until then, maybe it's going to be a movie day for us (or not). We'll see about that as the day unfolds.

I like these photo you took, the colors are amazing.

That indeed is freaky seeing someone you couldn't think of in your dream. Was it your unconscious body reminding you or a mind haunting, hehe?

Take care 😊

Heavy rains... At least there's some excitement in that...

Mines just light frequent drizzles with a 5 minute gap between them😔😂

Lovely pictures though ✨

Tinakot Ka talaga SA panaginip sis? Hehe😁. Buti erosion Lang, mas katakot Pg landslide.

I’m glad you got your see sunset again
Attend the wake keep and have a wonderful time

Ehhhhh, but you know her or no talaga? Or maybe you know her somewhere and just forget her, hihi. Anyways, nakakamiss din si haring araw, but with the kind weather we have, its still not bad. Gloomy but no rain, which we are really thankful.

Heavy rains can be a real challenge FG. It’s good to stay safe and find small moments of joy.

Yes, that's why the rainy season is not favorite months of the year😬

Thanks, RM. Take care.

Dear @ifarmgirl, you just got hugged.
I sent 1.0 HUG on behalf of @theringmaster.

This here is one disadvantage of rain.
It causes erosion to our roads, if not properly channelled.

Sadly, you couldn't go on the road trip.

One week without the sun can be really frustrating. May feel like you're living in a post apocalyptic world.
Do plants survive during these times?

Yes, and channeling rainwater can be a tough job in a mountainous region like ours.

Yes, plants do survive during the rainy season. Some rot when the rain is excessive like we are having these days.

Yeah very tough. It's sad though. Though the beauty of nature is none to be compared with, it still got some flaws.

This means that it's not a good idea to plant crops during this times.

Thank you❤

Naalala mo na po kasi bumisita sa dream. Condolence to the family.

Keep safe po always.😊

This is surprising.
Over here the only time one "may" not see the sun is night, hehe. The heat from the sun is "mad".
I feel sorry for the neighbor, may her soul rest in perfect peace.
It's better to miss an appointment that would change one's story than embark on a journey that would take one's life.
"Safety first", I'm happy you guys considered safety before early arrival.
Enjoy your day friend. I love the quality of your photos, I jealous them, awn!!!🤭🤭

We miss it terribly. We hope this weather won't stay long. And yes, safety first. Hope things are going well with you.

Not completely, but I hope to be well.
Thanks for the care, friend!
