Swaying To And Fro
One may restore oneself when alone, when feeling lonely you must be keeping bad company, alternatively you need time!
Tree on the hill in the morning mist of time, how brave you are up there all alone standing in solitude against the elements as they glide up toward you from above or below, nowhere able to stem the flow.
Are your companions close enough, to share secrets up to your perch above?
When angry wind screams around corners carrying lightning bolts on it's shoulders, throwing hail stones at you, it truly becomes a case of burying your roots deep to withstand onslaught of bashing you will receive.
Your whispers are heard when I sit beneath, wind gently sweeping through, shaded by your glorious outstretched arms, engulfed in thought of how you stand guard under blazing sun then moonlit sky.
How do the stars affect you moonless nights, do they wink down telling you of approaching dawn, sunlight returning to scorch down once more.
Being a lone tree on the hill, accepting fate as handed you, rooted in over time the seed landed in a lonely spot.
One sided wisdom could be your inner voice telling you to flee before you disgrace yourself, clinging onto to random possibilities are no longer an option.
Simple beauty making a mark, never cowering to surroundings may you live long my lone little tree!

Would you believe it but that lone photo - particularly the first photo - reminds me of Wuthering Heights.....
For the life of me I remembered this reminded me of something familiar, now you hit the nail on the head with Kate Bush and Wuthering Heights in song, and high school set book for reading, thanks!

I love lonely trees and if I was a lone tree, I wouldn't be a huge tree on a hill that can be seen from far away, but rather a smaller one high up on a steep slope that can't easily be seen, but I could see everything that's going on below me 😀
The fourth image is my favourite - looking up the tree with different coloured leaves looks great 👍

Small trees standing guard on top of a hill always trigger some feelings deep within, perhaps a little jealous of their view.
Fourth photo Autumn inland one of the few going into colour a little early captured the eye immediately.
Had a wonderful cool day yesterday, another today starting to break into warmer weather once again tomorrow. Any cooler days here in Summer always gracefully acceptable, February still ahead.... the month of real heat normally!

Fourth photo was an end of March visit, right on the start of Autumn with a few trees starting to show, loved how this young tree had a great shaped canopy.
Long shifts never fun, keep yourself busy with a little this (work) a little that (pleasure)....
Weather is cooler this morning, rain now moved along, later morning back to hot conditions with additional humidity, at least we had a short reprieve from heat.

Going up to the mountains during Autumn is something I must try to plan around to see the colours again, not done that yet normally arrive in Spring.
Heat is pumping itself up outdoors as we speak, February is normally our worst month for heat so I am hoping to see lots of photography with snow from the North.

You are quite the poet my friend. I love your sentiments about the lonely tree on the hill. Sometimes life is just like that for us as well. At least the tree has friends close by to keep it company through its root system. I know that they communicate that way, ;-)
Trees communicate, obviously listen to each other as well. Sometimes you wonder if anyone listens with people so busy in their own little world, well we all come to a realization hopefully sooner than later. Purely writing how I feel in the moment. !LOLZ

We are getting lots of rain and it was windy today too.
I rather have the sunlight returning to scorch a bit.

Standing up there all alone open to the elements it is surprising it has not been struck by lightning, must take strain when extreme wind sweeps through as well.

More often than not the early morning mist is peeled away with first sun creeping into the valley, South Africa seldom gets that cold that it will linger long.
Start of Autumn colour in tree was beautiful to stand under looking through, perhaps most enjoyable not seeing these colours on the coast where I live.

I do love the image of a solitary tree in the mist; something we see quite often, here in the foggy US Pacific Northwest.
Being inland at altitude this was mesmerizing to watch, we have rolling fog off the sea where I live.

Looking at photography sometime makes one realize how much we yearn to be in places more often, allowing our minds to be free of all that happens around us.
Right as you say. But in my opinion the tree on the hill has extraordinary courage and sturdiness, it can stand under any circumstances. One tree is a lot of inspiration that can be picked. Always healthy my mother
Tree or person standing alone fighting for their right to space or life always reflects a little different. Using a tree as an example it is easier to reflect the feeling of independence.

But sometimes though, I feel like a lone tree!
There is no family around, at least none that I know of.
Even having family one could feel like a lone tree, or wish to be one for awhile.
That was a beautiful homage to that tree, as well as to resilience and acceptance of the self in whatever circumstances are dealt
If we don't accept self we going to have one hell of a hard time going forward.
