RE: Memoir Monday- Dad Malan, Gentle Giant

in Silver Bloggerslast month

Men who were loved, shared knowledge to help us grow are people to admire.

Sounds like Dad stepped in to overcome many problematic household tools, as well as fix things on the go without money to waste, turning his hand to thinking then making it work.

Lovely reminder of our folks who were the pillars in our childhood that carried on throughout adult years.

That generation for sure were made of tough material!
I still use Mom's banking implements that Dad made, he really believed in making tasks easier by having the right tools.
All my brothers were/are very skillful at many diy task. Dad certainly left a wonderful legacy.

My Dad always had tasks we assisted with especially in the garden, he built his own drying trays for fruit in the garden like apricots and peaches, an open cage with roof top for hanging onions to dry in between the garages, here the boys had to help. Yes our parents taught us a lot! Sad these are not seen all that often any more.
