Live long Dad

In another six months I will be able to spend more time with you.

Coming back from my native is never easy - leaving two old people, who ideally should never stay alone. My father is a big fan of good food, especially non-veg. I wonder, how he is able to digest at this age of 82, but then it's always good to see him strong. During our match, I made sure to bring some mutton for him and he enjoyed it. That day was the last day of non-veg after which one month will go full vegan. However, there is one other thing he should love for his health, but he does not. He does not want to do any hard work or even simple walk. All he wants is sit, eat and sleep, which is not good for him. So me and my Mom are always behind him, encouraging , fighting or whatever it takes to make him walk few steps every day.

Another interesting observation over the time is that, he never forgets monetary things. Ask him anything else, he will say I don't know. Probably being a banker, his memory has got some weakness for monetary aspects. And he loves to go to the Bank, where he served two tenures as Branch head. In fact that is how, this land was bought, while he was serving here. So I accompanied him to the bank.

It's always a pleasure to see him happy. He did withdraw his money, by writing a cheque and counting them - all on his own. I was just listening all the conversations. And then coming back, I was surprised to hear him asking me to stop by a book store. He wanted to refill one of his pen. Had he told me, I would have bought a new pen, but I was happy, to see he remembering things and wishing to get it done. And even he knows the exact store - where to go.

I intentionally did not offer him any help - to see how he is approaching the steps. He climbed them on his own, went and asked them to refill. There were some crowds, so he had to wait ( Ya, in India, there is no special treatment). But then once others left, his job was done. And then because the shop keeper gave him some change, he brought a small tape instead. I asked, what will he do with that, and he said, he may need it, better to take instead of change, as nobody takes changes. Interesting, isn't it !

Coming back, he looked down at the steps. I was standing on the street. The shopkeeper indicated to give him hands, but then I purposely did not. I wanted him to come on his own. And he did. These are some of the small things that may boost his courage. But not alone though - he always needs a company, who can be with him and be very careful to watch and hold him immediately. That is the reason, we are not letting him go out alone. Because, recently he fell at a place, and some known friends saw him, and brought him to home in an auto. He loves to go out, but then Mom is super watchful to make sure he does not step outside alone. They are living together since last 52 years - so you know, she can always make out what's cooking inside him. So whenever I go, I take him outside. And whenever I have a little bandwidth , I run there - ya, I feel deep inside for them. Hopefully, things will be better in another six months after my son's exam - running an one man army is not easy. And they don't want to come and stay with me in the city - they love the natural ambience of our home. As long as they are able to manage their things.

May your father live longer. But walking is very important during this time. Just sitting at home can cause various problems at this age, so try to walk at least in the morning or afternoon. Best wishes for your father.

True, that is the reason, we are behind him. Thank you so much for the wishes.

This post remained me of my nanaji, he also doesn’t want to live in city, he’s really close to nature, but last year in covid he lost his 30+ year old son. (My mamaji) Which was the worst thing any parent should never experience such pain at this old age.
It was not easy for us to get him back to normal but we stayed with him and made sure he didn’t feel alone. We are still dealing with the lose.
I wish a long life to your parents and your family.

That's harsh on life - May God give him all the strength. I can feel the pain - hats off to you for all the support you are providing.

May Allah grant you peace. I see your post after many days on hives. I stopped working on the hive and am now active again

Thank you so much.

Your dad seems to be in a very good shape for someone of this age. Having such a strong apetite is also a good sign :) All the best & many more years to your dad!

Thank you so much.

He can digest much proper than us because he has eaten organic food in his childhood. He is looking strong and handsome too. My warm regards to him 🙏

🙏🤛

I love to see your father remembering things, It happened too with my Grand mother, she when she was able to revisit her favorite places and relive her daily life pre retirement, she inmidiacly clicked back to who she was at that time and got a lot more retention, speech and skills back, sometimes until the end of the day, so we in her final two decades (She lived 24 years after the doctors said she would die, yeah, not the best doctors xD but the creator does miracles like that from time to time) we tried to push help her to do all she used to do daily and to be there for her the most, so if my gramma could live 20+ years against the "death sentence" that the doctors gave her, I bet your father as a healthy man with a healthy diet, could live a lot more than that :)

Thank you so much.

May God bless him with good health and long and healthy life....and his blessings be with you always...

father and son can not be separated, although whatever they have a strong inner bond, hopefully you can continue to be with dad, given good health

You are so blessed to have a father like him.father teaches many things in life infact he is perfect example how to lead a life in the world and role model for every son.he doesn't looks like 82 he looks like 70.beautiful post!!

Hello dear friend @sanjeevm good day
I would love to reach the age of 82 like your father does, he is a true example for us
It's good that you accompanied your father to the bank and let him do things on his own, it's a way to encourage them to do more activities
I appreciate that you share this video and the experience you live with your dad
have a beautiful day

How nice for your father, friend, 82 years old and still carrying out his daily activities. I also imagine that life in contact with nature is better for you than living in the city. long life to him

father is like a roof on our head.

The most blessed moments are those we spent with our parents! Especially when they grow up, they need more than our love! My greetings to your father, who has a very kind face

Thank you so much.

I hope there are many more years that he can share with his father

I wish your father more long life in sound health

awwww 😉😊❤❤💖💙💚😍

u show great luv for him and also all your family. I think I am definitely like him in that I don't like to walk or really do much. Maybe 30 minutes of workout is the most.. :P

He looks very strong and full of life tho.. I don't like how so many older people seem to lose their 'zest' or 'color' or most obvious is their 'meat' :P I mean like they are like shriveled versions of themselves??

Then you should walk or do some kind of light exercise for half an hour daily.

Wish your father live a long and healthy life

 last year

Your dad is remarkable at his age, I love to hear how you care for him, and love him.
You are blessed.

Thank you a lot.

 last year

❤️

I wish your father well. I love seeing you two together. Actually, father-son relationship should be like this. thank you

Thank you so much.

Your father looks strong, older people have very good health because of the type of life they live and how they eat, they were better than us because of all that pollution.

Cheers

Its not easy to leave our parents and go to different places for work but sometimes in life we need to do this. Your duo is great and good example of father & son relationship

Thank you a lot.
