Downvoted for saying “Thank You”?!

Downvoted for saying “Thank You?!

Today I checked my notifications to discover that someone downvoted one of my posts.

It happened recently too, but that time was by someone who confessed they had made a mistake when I asked them.

I discovered there was another downvote but this was by an auto downvote bot triggered by the first one.

I have asked both of the recent downvoting accounts for a reason and have yet to get a response. Both of them have been on Hive for several years now and should know better than this.

My post was simply the words “Thank you” as a reply to a comment on one of my posts on @Ecency Waves.

There is a 250 character limit on Ecency Waves, so I keep my messages short. I do not ise AI nor plagiarise so I have no idea where this animosity came from.

Was there even animosity?
Or had I just overstepped some unwritten rule in their minds?

There was no explanation, just a mindless downvote.

At least give a reason for why you’re downvoting someone so they can learn and improve or the real matter can be addressed or resolved.

Ironically, these people are “free speech” advocates and their recent conversations were about reputation score.

Ultimately, this negative drop will be forgotten in the sea of positive support especially over time.

I just needed to get this “WTF moment” off of my chest.

I know that I am not entitled to upvotes, or even answers, it’s just frustrating that someone could attack our reputations unprovoked and get away with it.

Yes, this is a storm in a tea cup and I will quickly move onto more positive posts.
