Colorful Bee Eaters in Austria

The Bee Eaters are some of the most colorful birds that you can find in Austria and I am always happy when I visit one of the spots that I know. The Spot in Lower Austria is a really great one where I can get pretty close to the birds and also get several nice in flight shots of them. It was shown to us by the host that we visited the first time there in Lower Austria for a sleepover some Years ago. Since then Stefan and I visit this spot from year to year for some bird photography. Not only the bee Eaters but also several other birds that can be found there. White Taled Eagles, the kestrel and the red kite as well as the black kite and a lot of smaller birds like skylarks.

Great shots! Amazing birds, I saw bee-eaters in Bangkok, always flying above trees and sitting atop tall trees - my 70-300mm couldn't reach them - just a view from far away.

The color of this bird is very spectacular. I like the picture of the bird flying.
