Little Escapades in The World of Futures

Winter Sucks.

That’s just a fact. I know, we’re not supposed to say it out loud, because then it sounds like we’re ungrateful whiners. But seriously, who ever decided that these cold, dark months had to be fun? The only thing that makes winter bearable are the birds in the garden. Really, those little flutterers have my respect. They survive the cold, the rain, and they don't seem to care much about the cold at all.

I feed them every day now. And it's kinda weird how winter-proof wandering outside with a bowl of bird seed and a camera feels. I don't think about my fingers freezing off. It’s worth it, because the sight of blue tits and robins fighting over the best seed is pure entertainment. It’s like reality TV, but with wings. Skipper loves it too, he doesn't mind the cold either and enjoys being outside with me, watching the birds, barking at some passengers ...

Warming Up With Pyrography

After feeding the birds, it was time to warm up. And what better way to do that than with a little Pyrography? Not only is it a great excuse to stay indoors, but it’s also quite magical to watch a piece of wood come to life under your branding iron. For now, the result is still a secret, because I promised myself I wouldn’t show it until it’s actually finished. But trust me, Rowan is really starting to look like Rowan. If you knew Rowan, you’d be nodding right now. And if you didn’t, well… just take my word for it.

Escapade Into The World of Futures

In between all that creative tinkering, I also had a little escapade into the world of futures trading. Thanks to Mexc.com, I was given a $30 credit to play around with the concept. The idea is simple: I can use that $30 until January 20, 2025, and any profit I make is mys to keep. The $30 itself disappears from my account after that. It’s a bit like taking a chance with someone else’s money. Pretty good deal, right?

Well, in theory it sounds nice, but in practice it turns out that futures trading is not something you can just pick up on a rainy Sunday afternoon. So far I have made a profit of 3 dollars. Not bad, but that is mainly because I panicked and closed every trade as soon as I had to leave my computer. No risks, that is my motto.

By the way, I do not bet more than 10 dollars per trade, because I honestly have not even bothered to read exactly how this whole system works. Better safe than sorry, as they say. But hey, who knows, I might make a big hit before January 20th.

Asking For A Miracle

So, if anyone has any golden tips for this beginning trader, I would love to hear them! For now I will continue to 'play' cautiously and hope that I learn something. Or that I accidentally make a fortune. Both options are fine, to be honest. Until then I will keep myself busy with my birds, my Pyrography, and my attempts to get through this winter without freezing my fingers off. Stay warm, people!

Sort:

It's commendable how you're exploring different facets of life, from diving into the adventurous world of futures trading to expressing your creativity through pyrography. Each of these activities nurtures a different part of your spirit, keeping life interesting and dynamic. With your trading experience, even though $3 might seem modest, it's really a testament to your careful and considered approach. It's often said that steady growth is more sustainable than chasing quick gains. Plus, the thrill of learning something new and the possibility of a surprise profit adds an exciting layer to your daily routine.
As you continue to juggle these ventures, keeping your risk-free trading strategy intact and your fingers warm through this winter, it's clear that you're embracing life's challenges and joys head-on. Your diverse interests are a reminder that there's always more to explore and learn.
