I went kayaking the other day you can see some of those shots here
Was hoping to see a lot of birds so I took my big camera as well... but didn't really see anything... until the very end when this guy let me get pretty close for a decent amount of time.
This was taken from the kayak while being constantly blown by the wind so i'd have to paddle to the side and let the wind push me by while getting some shots and then do it again a couple more times before he got bored of me and flew away.

Great shot! Especially considering you took it from your kayak. Do you have any concerns about your camera getting wet?
I am careful so I don't feel too concerned. It was flat water in an It's inflatable kayak so it was never going to tip over and I also have a dry bag
When I was going on long padding trips I was always afraid to take my camera. The waves on Lake Superior can quickly get huge. At the time Kodak was selling those disposable under water film cameras and I used to keep one strapped to the deck of my boat.
