On May 17 I decided to go to the meadows outside the city.
Walking along the river bank, I saw a white wagtail gathering building material for a nest.
The Siberian Chiffchaff did the same in the bushes.
Going a little further, I heard the song of an yellowhammer. I turned on the voice on the phone to lure, and this male flew in.
Surprisingly, I heard a cuckoo in these places! The fact is that I have not yet reached the meadows where cuckoos commit their diversions on the nests of insectivorous birds. There were two cuckoos, two males. They were sitting in the bushes. One male just sat, and the second could not find a place for himself, and constantly moved, sometimes grumbled (yes, this birds is not only "cuckoo").By the way, when I left, I saw already three birds. Probably one of them was a female.
☝️ By the way, a little advice from me. Cuckoos are not attracted to the sounds of cuckoo, that is, the mating songs of males. These are completely different birds, with completely different behavior. Therefore, try to find the sounds of female cuckoos, and then the males react and fly in.
And finally, I got to the meadows! In the low bushes I heard a rosefinch. And then, from somewhere below, a disgruntled common whitethroat jumped out. She did not like that another bird flew into her territory.
And here is the same bird, an unexpected guest - rosefinch. This male sang a song that unnerved common whitethroat.
There is a good lake in the meadow, this is the shore of the lake.
In this place, in small bushes, I met a Pallas's grasshopper warbler. He was sitting literally a couple of meters from me on a tall blade of grass and sang a song. I'm surprised he wasn't afraid of me.
And on the opposite side, a few meters away, there was a common grasshopper warbler. And unlike his neighbor, this bird is a real psycho!
He did not sit still for a second, and was incredibly shy. One had only to rustle the grass as he immediately flew away. Moreover, he could come close, but thanks to his plumage, he was not visible in the middle of the grass and branches of the bush.
In addition, the branches prevented the camera from focusing. To take this picture, I literally had to fall! I started to fall sideways and at the moment when the bird became clearly visible, I took a series of pictures.
Common terns flew on the lake itself. There were two of them, and apparently it was a couple. The male flew after the female, and she demanded to feed her.
Well, black kites flew very low over the meadow.
I turned back and heard a wryneck in the bushes. The male sang a song very loudly and sat motionless.
On the path I saw three starlings. They successfully caught fat caterpillars. And no, this starling in the photo does not make sounds when he opens his beak. He just walked around with his beak open, it was very, very hot.
Of course, these places are full of yellow wagtails.
But there are still not very many Siberian stonechat.
Crossing to the other side, going down the cliff to the river, I saw two different pairs of ducks. Mallards swam near the shore.
A pair of mergansers swam nearby. By the way, I probably saw them in mid-April on the other side of the coast.
So this is how my walk turned out.
Прекрасная коллекция!
