🦉 The common redstart (Phoenicurus phoenicurus)
- Phoenicurus Greek: dark red phoinix, oura tail
We call this bird a “burning tail”. And this is logical, when a bird is alarmed, it twitches its bright rufous tail, and it looks like a flame.
They arrive at the end of April or beginning of May, depending on the weather. The main thing is that by this moment there are already insects on which they feed. Males actively sing songs and hide in trees. During this period, taking a photo is not so easy.
But in the summer, when these birds already have offspring, the males very bravely, sacrificing themselves, protect their nests and children. They divert the enemy's attention to themselves, thereby leading them further away. And around August, flights to warm countries begin.

It is a practice of nature that every living thing protects its children and hence this bird also completely protects its children too. Although this is a small bird, even small animals know how to protect their children.
