🦉 The common chaffinch or simply the chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs)

  • fringilla (lat.) - finch; fi nco (Old German), fi nc (Old English)
  • coelebs coelebs (lat.) - single, idle, unmarried

I would like to believe that these delightful forest singers will arrive next week, but alas. The weather is going crazy. Have you ever seen a thunderstorm in winter, during a blizzard? And in my region, this extremely rare phenomenon has already happened 4 times in 2 months.
But still, even this may not stop the arrival of these birds, because it’s not for nothing that we call them “frozies”. They are frost-resistant, arrive first, and fly away late when it’s already cold.

Of course, the males will arrive first, and then after about a week the females and young males will arrive.
Males will find and occupy a territory and will guard and sing songs.

For the last few days, two very small birds come to my balcony early in the morning and play and most of the time I wake up due to their chirping, But as soon as I open the door to take their picture, they fly away. 😄 but it feels so good!

It's wonderful when the birds fly in and you can admire them so closely😊

🙏thanks

@ratel ваша серия наблюдений за птицами великолепна

В прошлом году весной я видел зяблика возле своей кормушки. Летом их сложно увидеть в лесу.

Гроза во время снегопада? Хотел ьы я такое увидеть :)
