🦉 The willow tit (Poecile montanus)
- Poecile poikilis (Greek) an unidentified small bird mentioned in ancient texts
- montanus (lat .) : mōns, montis mountain, mountain range, montanus mountain
A dexterous, active, restless, fidgety tit. Apart from the great tits, this species is also one of the most numerous in the forests.
With the arrival of spring, as the sun just begins to warm, these birds begin their mating season, and the forests are filled with the songs of males. The songs are sad, melancholic whistles, but they sound beautiful. In addition to the songs, you can hear an interesting murmuring sound. With this sound, the bird politely asks if this territory is occupied by anyone.
However, not all birds live in forests, some are used to living near people, in city parks and groves. I like to walk through the grove, these birds are so used to people there that they beg for treats from people passing by. And it is difficult to refuse them without giving them a treat.
