SMaP 157 - Free Theme (1st wave)

in Feathered Friends2 months ago

I would like to say thank you to dear @nelinoeva for this competition. You can find the announcement and rules here.

This week's theme is - FREE THEME

There is very little time left before the arrival of spring and the arrival of the first birds returning from wintering grounds. Literally 2-3 weeks left.
And the very first, the so-called "first wave" includes:

Chaffinch, of course. This famous forest singer arrives very early, even when there is still snow. More precisely, the males arrive first.
By the way, if you try and see him very first, you can hear his “sub-song” before he starts singing fully.

The black kite also arrives early, in early April. At first they stay in the forests, and then you can see them flying in circles in city yards, looking for goodies in garbage dumps.

The white wagtail, like the kite, is first observed in the wild, namely near large rivers, and then flies into cities.

In general, Fieldfares are not migratory, but in my region it is so cold in winter that they wander further away. However, they appear in early spring along with chaffinches.

But Redwings (white-browed thrushes) appear at the same time as fieldfares, although they are migratory.

Greenfinches are also not migratory; more precisely, I would say that this bird migrates within the country, just to regions where it is warm. Therefore, it arrives early in the spring. Last year they actually appeared before the finches arrived, which was unexpected.

And the Yellowhammer is also a wintering bird, and also lives in warm regions in winter.

I love this time of the year when the choir of different songs can be heard.
As always outstanding photos. 🙂

Что-то Greenfinches не видно в этом году у меня у кормушки. осенью были, а вот сейчас нет.
И еще дубоносов что-от не видно.
