I have a falcon again (2024.02.26)

in Feathered Friends2 months ago

A beautiful young (less than one year old) imprinted female prairie-peregrine falcon. I bought it today for €700 EUR in Taroconte. Originally I planned to buy a male chick for €500 EUR, but I changed my mind.

The breeder gave the falcon to me hooded, and the falcon travelled with us in the back of the car hooded.

I arrived home in the evening. She have not ate today so far. I offered her food shortly after I arrived home, but she have not ate so far.

After I removed the hood, she became noisy. She will be more tame over time.

Of course I am very careful with her. I protect her very much. The first thing I did after we took her out of the car is to tie her down, so she will not fly away accidentally.

I will upload more photos about her in the next few days. Maybe even a few videos.

Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.

I'm sure you will take great care of her😉

I tried, but actually I lost her three days ago (on the morning of 2024.02.29). I tied her down, but she untied herself, after I left her alone for a few minutes. It was my mistake. I tied her down in open space, because there was no aviary (my friends are still working on it), and I tied her down without putting the hood on her head. She flown away with her leash towards El Médano, the ocean shore.

I have not seen her so far, and as I currently know, no one else saw her so far either. I am trying to find her, and I learn from my mistake. And I will buy a new bird in the near future (even if I find the flown away female hybrid). I will buy the male hybrid, which I previously talked about, and agreed to buy from the breeder. The falcon chicks will hatch in April or in May. We will see.
