A animation tribute for International Women's Day [ENG/SPA]

Yesterday marked International Women's Day, a milestone commemorating women's courage in demanding rights and equality, a struggle that continues to this day. Those of us who live with women know how special they are; we come from a mother, we unite with a woman in marriage, and we may become parents of a daughter. Currently, my wife and daughter are everything to me, which is why I decided to animate a simple message with three words.

Un tributo en movimiento a propósito del Día Internacional de la Mujer

Ayer se conmemoro el dia internacional de la mujer, que señala un hito donde mujeres fueron valientes en reclamar derechos e igualdad, una lucha que se sostiene hasta el dia de hoy. Quienes convivimos con mujeres sabemos lo especiales que son, venimos de una madre, nos unimos a una mujer en matrimonio y podemos llegar a ser padres de una mujer. Actualmente, mi esposa y mi hija lo son todo para mi, por eso pensé en animar un mensaje sencillo con tres palabras.

In January, I completed a basic course on Domestika called "Expressive Typography in Motion with After Effects," taught by Mat Voyce, an English designer specializing in kinetic typography. I started with low expectations, progressing very slowly through the initial lessons, but then discovered a wonderful world of animation. That's why my latest animations have revolved around this type of art, which I aspire to perfect with more practice. So, this was a good opportunity to animate a new phrase.

En enero finalice un curso básico en Domestika sobre 'Tipografía expresiva en movimiento con After Effects' dictado por Mat Voyce un diseñador inglés especialista en tipografía cinética. Lo hice con pocas expectativas, avance muy lento durante las primeras lecciones, pero luego descubrir un mundo maravilloso de la animación, por eso mis ultimas animaciones han tenido que ver con este tipo de arte que deseo perfeccionar a medida que lo practico mas seguido, por eso esta fue una buena oportunidad para animar una nueva frase.

Expressive typography perfectly encapsulates what art is; you can create your own typefaces, use any color palette you want, animate it, change it, deform it, transform it, until you express a message. But that can be quite a challenge—animated words that convey something beyond what they literally say.

La tipografía expresiva encierra perfectamente lo que es arte, puede crear tu propia tipografías, usar la paleta de colores que tu quieras, animarla, cambiarla, deformarla, convertirla, hasta lograr expresar un mensaje, pero eso puede ser todo un desafío, palabras animadas que expresen algo más allá de lo que dicen.

My animation consists of the words "Woman," "Virtuous," and "Beloved." A woman who practices virtue positively influences the lives of her family and those around her, making it easy to love her. The animation aims to highlight these three words with an alternating zoom-in motion, emphasizing each one at time intervals.

Mi animación consta de las palabras Mujer, Virtuosa y Amada. Una mujer que practica la virtud es influye positivamente en la vida de sus familiares y de quienes le rodean, por lo tanto es fácil llegar amarla. La animación pretende resaltar estas tres palabras, con un movimiento de aumento que se alterna, dando énfasis a cada una en un intervalo de tiempo.

As for the animation technique, it has been quite an experience to learn how to use it. After you write the text or attach the word design, you must convert each letter into text shapes so that each of its strokes becomes a modifiable path, allowing you to move it at your discretion and apply any effect.

En cuanto a la técnica de animación, a sido toda una experiencia aprender a utilizarla. Luego que escribes el texto o adjuntas el diseño de las palabras, hay que convertir cada una de las letras en formas de texto, a fin de cada uno de sus trazos se convierta en una ruta modificable, para mover a discreción y aplicarle cualquier efecto.

Then, each composition must be duplicated to add color, extrusion, and outline, as well as apply global effects that affect each part. The movement speed is also adjusted to start fast and end slow, creating a brief pause when each word increases in size.

Luego, cada composición se debe duplicar, para poder darle color, extrusión y contorno, además de aplicar efectos de forma global, es decir que afecte a cada una de las partes. También se ajusta la velocidad de movimiento, para que inicie rápido y termine lento, a fin de hacer una breve pausa cuando cada palabra aumenta de tamaño.
